Rayzor Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 Did you read any of the comments people leave for this bozo? They actually LIKE his crap. This world is going to hell in a handbasket for sure...
Sweet Jane 61 Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 We had our version of the NCAA with music on our website and listeners could vote...well it got down to the final two Zeppelin and AC/DC and AC/DC won by 8 votes!! I was pulling for Zeppelin!! Oh well it's all rock and roll!! :guitar:
Rayzor Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 As an AC/DC fan I am glad to hear that they pulled it off... Led Zep is tough competition!
Sweet Jane 61 Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 Listeners!! I had this guy send me a not so nice email saying I shouldn't be on the air if I refer to new releases from bands and albums. They are CD's and I should know that and if I don't get another job!! Come on, so many people call them albums. He needs to get a life!! }
Farin Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 imho 'Album' is even more correct than 'CDs' CDs can be Singles or Albums or Compilations ... etc. etc. Albums are albums, and considering that nowadays Albums get released as download, CD and Vinyl - you'd have to always say everything...
Rayzor Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 The guy is jealous that he couldn't be a DJ. That's the greatest job in the world and he's just being petty and whiny cuz he couldn't make it.
Levis Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 It's true... albums is absolutely right. That guy is wrong. Call back and tell him he's a dolt and that he's wasting his money and your time and needs to go find a life of his own because he is a brainless twit.
Rayzor Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 Also... if I ripped tunes off the net and put them onto CD, does that mean I just made an album? If so then I had about 30 albums that I made... idiots who think they know everything...
miamisammy29 Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 There term "album" is entirely correct. The artists put out long-play (LP) or extended-play(EP) "albums". Those albums are distributed on cassette tape, vinyl records, and compact discs (and years ago...8-track tapes). The guy who sent you that e-mail is a f***ing moron!
Sweet Jane 61 Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 I love my SF family!! Can you all come here and do some azz kickin'?? Now that would be fun!! And just to put it in his face, tomorrow I am so going to try and say album as much as possible!
Rayzor Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 If I do go, can I do some DeeJay duties? I used to be a DJ for social events and that sort of thing and it was the greatest job I ever had! And you should try and find albums with the word "Album" in the title, like the White Album for instance, just so he keeps hearing the word!
miamisammy29 Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 he is a brainless twit. Uh, yeah, that's what I meant to say...."brainless twit". I apologize to all the youngsters and women out there.
Rayzor Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 Just something for the e-mailing idiot: Wikipedia says: "Today, with the vinyl record no longer being used as the primary form of distribution, the term "album" can still be applied to any sound recording collection, such as those on compact disc, MiniDisc, Compact audio cassette, and digital or MP3 albums. Cover art is also considered an integral part of the album. Many albums also come with liner notes and inserts giving background information or analysis of the recording, reprinted lyrics, images of the performers, or additional artwork and text." And I'd love to co-host radio!!
Sweet Jane 61 Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 Thanks rayzor, I am so going to quote wikipedia on the air tomorrow!! I will record it and send it to ya!! You don't mess with the DJ!!
Rayzor Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 Right on!! The DJ is God of the radio!! You must obey the god and abide by the god's rules!!!
Tenacious_Peaches Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 I got your back, sister, and I take no prisoners. Call me if you need me to break it down redneck style for this mook. :insert smiley face with boxing gloves and a bad attitude:
Sweet Jane 61 Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 Peachy, girl I know you could put the smack down on this dude!! He wouldn't know what hit him with some Georgia fury!! Yee-Ha!!
miamisammy29 Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 I can have him silenced for 50 bucks, a carton of Newports and a couple of nudie magazines.
Sweet Jane 61 Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 Sammy, I get those things for you within the hour!! See you then!
Tenacious_Peaches Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 I've got those items in my desk drawer. The fifty bucks is in quarters, though.
Rayzor Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 *In my best Goodfella's accent: "We gonna feed him to da fishes. He can run his mout' all he wants down there."
Shawna Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 Listeners!! I had this guy send me a not so nice email saying I shouldn't be on the air if I refer to new releases from bands and albums. They are CD's and I should know that and if I don't get another job!! Come on, so many people call them albums. He needs to get a life!! } according to Mirriam-Webster online, the definition of "album" is thus: a collection usually in book form of literary selections, musical compositions, or pictures flip the guy an e-finger.
