The Seeker Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 I live in Scotland. Not just anywhere in Scotland... Aberdeen, where pretty much all buildings are made of grey granite, streets are made of equally grey cobblestone, I can see the grey sea, and the sky was grey all winter.
MuzikTyme Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 I live in Cobble Stone Park. It's lined with grey cobblestones. But, I sure love seeing the sun rise and set.
The Seeker Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 I like seeing that too... It's not like I don't like sun, I just like grey days just as much and really wouldn't want to live in a place where it's blue sky and sun all year round.
Levis Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 ^ ditto... the best part about a sunny climate is when it's grey and cloudy and rainy. by sunny climate, I do not mean Caribbean beaches, though I'd like rainy weather there too
MuzikTyme Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 I really wouldn't want to live in a place where it's blue sky and sun all year round. Wow! That would be sheer torture, to have things beautiful? Tell me why you like things grey.
The Seeker Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 I clearly said I like sunshine. My idea of beautiful is not necessarily blue sky and sun, I hate hot weather and since I'm not very fond of people I don't like the idea of vast armies of people crowding the streets just because the sun is out.
Levis Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 Blue sky and sun is NOT necessarily beautful, MuzikTyme! You're equating it with beaches and mild temperatures. THAT is fine. Try a dry 47 degrees celcius (116 F) in a crowded city without air conditioning. That is torture.
MuzikTyme Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 My idea of beautiful is not necessarily blue sky and sun Blue sky and sun is NOT necessarily beautful, "Blue sky and sun is not necessarily beautiful." That has to be the most hopeless line I've ever had the displeasure of reading. I think I just woke up on Jupiter where ammonia is the call of the day. Breathe deep!
The Seeker Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 What's so wrong with us having a different opinion? You like blue sky and sun, fine... to me there'd be nothing worse than that all the time, but I don't call your opinion hopeless just because you happen to like it.
MuzikTyme Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 Yeah. When I find fault with blue skies and sun then I welcome you to call me an idiot. What a great example you've set forth; that some people are NEVER happy or content.
Uncle Joe Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 (edited) The perfect time for a little... MUSICAL INTERLUDE Or... EVEN THIS ONE Edited May 22, 2008 by Guest Better yet.
The Seeker Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 I do prefer the Garbage song. When did I set forth an example of people never being happy or content? I just said I love grey weather! I love clouds and rain and thunderstorms and I love this being city this grey. It makes me very happy. And apart from that, I'm no depressed, unhappy person just because I like 'bad' weather.
Uncle Joe Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 I, too, love rainy weather. Always have. It makes me feel relaxed and mellow. I even enjoy driving in it. As for sunshine? Love it, too. There's a place for everything. I take it with me to the beach. Now, shall we talk about snow?
The Seeker Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 Ooh yes I love snow. I particularly love walking home at night when it's snowing.
MuzikTyme Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 Let's just cut the sky out completely and live in total darkness!... Yes, that's it!
Uncle Joe Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 Just my luck. A beautiful woman says "yes" to me and she's halfway 'round the world.
MuzikTyme Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 I can only speak for myself but, most women I've been with were from another world altogether. So, Joe, I think your luck is pretty darn good!
MuzikTyme Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 Be easy on Joe, he might not be able to get two rockons in one night...
Uncle Joe Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 I give you two rockons too And they weren't lost on me. Thank you!
Mars88 Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 Okay...no more talk about snow. I live in a place where we could potentially still get it in May and June.
