Steel2Velvet
Hear you, B-F. Some of my alltime favorites are probably unknown to many of the people here. I would nominate nearly every song from one of my favorite albums, but few would vote for Tumba - Angélique Kidjo. I think of participating in this rated survey in terms not so much as, The Best Songs Ever, but more like, My Most Beloved Well Known Songs. I'm a voter of broad musical acceptance, but not knowing the titles would preclude me from voting for certain songs. It would be cool if we had a musical link that allowed the nominated songs to be heard. That would lead to a lot of musical awakenings, I am sure. Red Fish
It would be cool if we had a musical link that allowed the nominated songs to be heard. That would lead to a lot of musical awakenings, I am sure. Definitely. I try to give everyone's nominations a chance (when I have the time) by going to YouTube and seeing if they have any music videos, but I have no luck when some songs are obscure. I can't tell ya how many times I wish I could like upload a song somewhere for people to download. If only that wasn't illegal, and some people weren't on dial-up. OLD 55
Steel (Ron) - was it you who was going to nominate "American Pie" but it went back into the Songfacts Top Ten ? It's been out for a while now, so please go ahead if you'd like to. I was just playing a Don McLean CD. Gee he's great. .................................................. I just updated 'Every Song That's Been In Our Top Tens'. We really have had a lot of variety. I hope to see all of our friends nominate in Top Ten #31. .................................................. Before nominations open though, please don't forget to list your "Nominations CD" for Top Tens #21 to #30 (bluesboy's innovation, and always interesting ). I'll only have 18 this time which I'll do tomorrow, John. Maybe I can add a couple of 'bonus tracks'; two of my favorites that are rather obscure - ones I wouldn't nominate because I doubt that anyone else would know them. Goodnight All.
