Farin
Hey Martin, what show is this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFZHWGUz-t8&feature=rec-fresh I'm not sure... the original footage seems to be from a tv show I never heard of called "Hits à gogo" from 1971 but from the moderator's dress and vaguely familiar face I'd say this is some "best of" show from the early 90s... dunno why that part's in black and white too though btw, the more famous music show at that time was called Beat-Club try out this site and tell me if it works for you... it doesn't for me (I'm from the wrong country )
The Seeker
I only read the Hits a gogo bit and wanted to reply that they mentioned it in a Who clip... but then I clicked the link. edit: also, looking at Pete Townshend, I doubt it's 1971 Edited October 13, 2008 by Guest
Farin
edit: also, looking at Pete Townshend, I doubt it's 1971 I bow to your superiour The Who knowledge and I was just repeating what moderator guy was saying *shrugs shoulders*
The Seeker
Well, I dunno, I may be completely off, I'm just going by hair length and the lack of beard... 1970 seems a lot more likely Anyway... seems that Hits a gogo show was German, but produced by Swiss TV. Dunno about the entire clip though Edited October 13, 2008 by Guest
The Seeker
Aha... I found this: The Seeker [“Top Of The Pops / Hits A-Go-Go†26th March 1970] as well as this: Top of the Pops (via Hits A Gogo) The Seeker - The Who (black and white (original tx in colour)) Should be the same clip as the youtube one, right? Farin
no not the entire clip, the NDR (or N3 at that time) is a German channel and the guy doesn't sound Swiss either (they have a very distinct dialect ) and maybe it could be that the promo video was filmed in 1970, but it came into the show in '71? The Seeker
^ see my last post Do you happen to know that guy's name? Or what shows he was in? Edit edit: I didn't click the link to the video earlier, but it was definitely the same clip, including that guy link...it's the first one Did you have a TOTP in Germany? Farin
no... well yes in the late 90s / early 00s, but not earlier... and no, he only seems a bit familiar... no idea what's his name and the show could even be a one-time special and not a regular show, I dunno
