OLD 55
UNDERSTATEMENTS OF THE YEAR wow this is going to be hard! TOO TRUE AS WE'VE FOUND OUT. ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE ! No nominations are required, as the songs have been selected from our 25 top tens. WHEN WE POST CHRIS' FULL 'SELECTION' LIST YOU'LL SEE WHAT I MEAN. HE DIDN'T JUST PULL THEM OUT OF A HAT; HE RATED EACH SONG TO ABOUT 3 OR 4 DECIMAL PLACES AND MADE FIVE BALANCED LISTS FOR US TO VOTE FROM. HE SHOULD PASS HIS MATHS TEST. Shawna
This list is an understatement. 1. Can't You See ~ Marshall Tucker 2. Sounds of Silence ~ Simon and Garfunkel 3. My Sharona ~ Knack 4. Crocodile Rock ~ Elton 5. Cecilia ~ Simon and Garfunkel 6. Imagine ~ John Lennon 7. Daydream Believer ~ Monkees 8. Mrs. Robinson ~ Simon and Garfunkel 9. Piano Man ~ Billy Joel 10. Time of the Season ~ Zombies It was sooooo difficult to whittle this list down to just 10. But once again, I took the songs that I remember from certain special times in my life, the ones that bring back the best memories. And here we are. OLD 55
I didn't word it too well first time around, shadows ! I've just been going through totting up the Points and I can't believe some of the great songs I left out - including ones I nominated. Wait'll we get to the Ultimate Ten ! It might be a 'flip a coin' job then.
OLD 55
I hope the "elegibilty to vote criteria" didn't sound too 'cliquey'. We just thought our Ultimate Top Ten should be decided by those who've chosen our Tens over the past few months; so even if someone only participated in ONE Top Ten, they're welcome to vote. c_s_1987
Now each of the 50 songs has at least a vote. Interesting, although not exactly surprising. Obviously all of these songs are popular, so I expect every song in every group will probably receive at least one point. Good to see you are keeping count also - I like to have a backup just in case.

OLD 55
Yes Chris. Farin and I usually keep a list each and compare. It's going to be really interesting to see which ones do make this Ten. Four songs have 60 + Points and then there's nine in the 40s.
c_s_1987
It certainly isn't over yet - I think there are about 4 regulars who haven't voted yet, and there are still about 20 songs that still have a very good chance of making the top ten. I think we'll keep it open for another day before Chris announces the Ultimate Top Ten Round 1. I'll check the Points standings with him in the meantime. Farin will most likely be starting up Top Ten #27 tomorrow morning, but there's no reason the two can't run concurrently. We have to keep busy ! edna
Very classic and very good, as usual... Great songs all of them. But why do you call it "Paint it, Black"? Like, "hey, Black, go and paint it..." It´s just "paint it black"...
