CanAm Posted August 12, 2006 Report Posted August 12, 2006 I love great guitar players, and here are four of the best. Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jeff Beck Link Eric Johnson Link Steve Howe Of Yes on a 12 string Link
CanAm Posted August 12, 2006 Report Posted August 12, 2006 God, I love the YouTube website!!! Thank you, thank you, Mike!
Danielj Posted August 12, 2006 Report Posted August 12, 2006 A guy named Erik Mongrain has no records released, and pretty much the only place you can find his music is on youtube. He is probably the best guitarist thats ever lived IMO. Not the most enjoyable, or soulful YET, but in terms of talent and potential, I think he could be the greatest. I'm sure Jimi hendrix or Joe Satch couldn't do any of that. Airtap PercusienFA Fusions Timeless
edna Posted August 12, 2006 Report Posted August 12, 2006 Steve Howe Of Yes on a 12 string Link I love Steve Howe. Here´s "Mood for a day". I just found "In the Court of the Crimson King", King Crimson.
Skuff Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 Don't know how rare this is, but it's funny! The Association-Along comes Mary on the Smothers Brothers!

Batman Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 Those are Nick Drake lyrics, and I had to post them because I thought of them each time I saw this topic title.
bazooka Posted September 8, 2006 Report Posted September 8, 2006 Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood – The Animals Unfortunately, the audio is out of sync with the video. A much superior version " has been removed due to terms of use violation " (??) I found it hard to believe that Eric Burdon (the "overfed, long-haired leaping gnome †) actually looked like this, at one time.
The Seeker Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 Ahh, great song. Thanks for posting the video.
tman Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 For all you Zeppelin fans, found this absolute gem at youtube - its just audio though. It's an alternate studio version of In The Light from Physical Graffiti. Check out the really creepy opening!
bazooka Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 Fingertips -- ' Little' Stevie Wonder
bazooka Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 Do you like good music ? That Sweet Soul Music -- Arthur Conley. Oh yeah, oh yeah yeah !
The Seeker Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 Great one. I nominated that for one of the Top Tens, but I think it got only my vote.
Batman Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 Bob Marley's son Ziggy and the probably the greatest traditional Irish folk band of all time covering Bob's "Redemption Song"
Batman Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 I was referring to the Chieftains, BTW
TheLizard Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 That's an awesome version of that song. I have it on their "Wide World Over" album. The Chieftains are amazing. Good to know there's another fan of Celtic music on this site. I'm a Celtic musician myself, so it's always fun to meet people who share that interest. Ever listen to Eileen Ivers?
bazooka Posted September 27, 2006 Report Posted September 27, 2006 Green Onions ( live, Stax Volt Tour 1967 ) -- Booker T. & The MGs
Batman Posted September 27, 2006 Report Posted September 27, 2006 To be honest, Lizard, my taste in Celtic music sort of begins and ends with the Chieftains. I love the Chieftains to death though. "Live!" is one of my favorite albums ever. I do listen to other celtic music, but it's mostly albums my dad owns, and I don't know any names.
