J Hill
7,on the F scale, this morning when i was trying to start my car at 6am,in western Mass.. Colder, they say, with the "wind chill index". But that's silly. Some kind of a guess based on how much colder being exposed to the wind makes you feel Why not have a "wet wind chill" temp too? That's how cold you 'actually' feel when wet and exposed to the wind All I know is it was the kind of cold that instantly freezes any exposed bodily fluids, like those in your nose. But that's nothing. I used to live 'up north'... North side of the Adirondacks. Sometimes on a clear, calm winter's night the mercury would drop to 25 - 30 below zero (f). Kind of awe inspireing in some strange way. The thing I really like about winter is the way it negates fashion. When it's that cold, even the most trendy among us are happy just to wrap themselves in anything warm
