ryansgirl319 Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 The correct title is "Baba O'Reilly."
RonJonSurfer Posted December 13, 2005 Report Posted December 13, 2005 Believe me....many people do not know that is the name of that song...at age 14, you get a pass..
TheTallOne Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 I'm 15 and I know the name. Come on. At least do some research (and if you wasnt a song added, look it up and submit it). Great song anyway.
edna Posted February 13, 2006 Report Posted February 13, 2006 RonJon is right... I called it "Teenage Wasteland" for at least twenty years before I knew it was "Baba O´Reilly"...
Earth-Angel Posted February 13, 2006 Report Posted February 13, 2006 You mean Baba O'Riley, of course
edna Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 You mean Baba O'Riley, of course See? People doesn´t even agree about how to write the tittle!! They write it one way or the other... I always wrote "O´Riley" but I looked in my books, compilation cd, wikipedia and others and they say "O´Reilly". It´s "O´Riley" in Songfacts but there´s also somebody saying it´s the other way...
edna Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 I looked in allmusic and all of the sites where they list the songs and it´s definitely Baba O'Riley... See?? One can never take things for granted...
The Seeker Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 I deleted my post because I'd said that it was O'Riley too, not Reilly, but deleted it because it might not be true. I've read several pages claiming that it was misspelled as Riley on the cover of Who's Next, and the record company promised Townshend that they'd change it on the next issue. Then, the song got a lot of ariplay and people knew it as Baba O'Riley and they decided against changing it. (the record company) Now, I've also seen some handwritten notes by Pete Townshend saying Reilly, but I suppose noone really knows how to spell it except for Townshend.
edna Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 That´s one of the best info I read lately... Thank you, Seeker...
edna Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 RonJon, you know I admire you... I reilly do...

RonJonSurfer Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 I just asked my assistant to call Alvin Lee to see if he's on our side...she just responded: re: Lee He's on our side too.
daslied Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 Didn't you also once show a new fishing pole to Elvis Presley? I think the conversation, as you told me, went like this: Elvis - Hey, man. What's that fancy spinnin' thing on top? With the wire. Ron - Reel, E.

Yeah, that was me and the King...then he drove away on his motorcycle with the front tire in the air..I asked him about it, all he said was "Wheelie".
daslied Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 Oh right. I forgot that part. He was on his way to visit that pitcher with the curly moustache. Something "Fingers".
