Song quotes

Recommended Posts

I was just thinking this morning (something I don't usually do alot of in the morning- <yawn>) about a song quote I have used and heard so very many times in the last 20 years.

"You can checkout anytime you like, but you can never leave"

I could think of more but it's still early - <yawn> - so I thought I'd let other play too.

You got any you have used or heard over the years that become clichés?

not to be pedantic but i'm a huuuuge manics fan so i just have to correct you - sorry! the quote is:

'i eat too much to die and not enough to stay alive so i'm sitting in the middle, waiting.'

it comes from '4st 7lb' off 'the holy bible' but it's not really a manics quote since it's a voice sample used as an intro to the song. i don't actually know where it comes from but would be interested to find out.

one of my favourite things about that album is the samples they use at the beginnings and during songs. i was very excited when i watched john hurt in '1984' and heard him say, as sampled at the beginning of 'faster': 'i hate purity. i hate goodness. i don't want virute to exist anywhere. i want everyone corrupt.'

as i said, huuuuuge manics fan!
