Maud Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 Uwkay, this song has been playing in my head all week.. It's an older song, with no lyrics (not that I can remember) and it's played with.. like keybords or zo.. Its' title is something with 'fly' in or so.. I'm sorry.. This isn't very clear, is it?
_jr_ Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 Maud, have you been drinking? Can you narrow it down to a decade? Was it on the radio? Is it uptempo, or mello? Come on Maud, get in the game!!! The first two 'older' instrumentals that popped into my head were: Frankenstien~ Edgar Winter Group Classical Gas ~ Mason Williams.
edna Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 Could it be "Flying" (Beatles)? Though I wonder how YOU might know, Maud...
Minky Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 You might try 'Magic Fly' by Space, a hit in 1977. They were French, I believe, and dressed as astronauts on stage. We need much more of that, if you ask me. Can someone coax Springsteen into a space-suit for his upcoming European tour?
miamisammy29 Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 How about "Gonna Fly Now", the theme from "Rocky", by Bill Conte (or something like that). Or does that song actually have a few words in it? Hmmm... ::
miamisammy29 Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 And, Maud, stay off the crack. It's really bad for you.
edna Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 Try to download "Flying" by the Beatles, or maybe someone you know has Magical Mystery Tour, it´s there. It has no lyrics but you can hear them sing "Nananananaaaa" over the synthethizer or piano or organ, I don´t remember now...
Maud Posted April 15, 2005 Author Report Posted April 15, 2005 hey man, get off my back.. I'm just bad in giving descriptions.. It's none of the songs you suggested.. Hmmz.. the only thing I can do is to 'tututu' it, but it wont help, would it? Thanx..
Crazy Don Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 How about "Gonna Fly Now", the theme from "Rocky", by Bill Conte (or something like that). Or does that song actually have a few words in it? I preferred Maynard Ferguson's version myself? How about "Beatnik Fly" by Johnny & the Hurricanes?
Maud Posted April 15, 2005 Author Report Posted April 15, 2005 nope, not even that.. I'm turning crazy.
NightOwl Posted April 16, 2005 Report Posted April 16, 2005 Hi Maud... This is just a thought...but is it possible that the song you're looking for is "Fly" by Celine Dion? If not, I hope you find it! Believe me, I know how aggravating it is to not be able to place or find a specific song...especially with not much to go on. Good Luck! ~Jessica
nobody_home Posted April 16, 2005 Report Posted April 16, 2005 Is it "Telstar" by The Tornados? It kind of reminds me of flying (or being on some kind of trip)
invisible_r Posted April 16, 2005 Report Posted April 16, 2005 the only song i can think of is "popcorn" because i had the exact same problem identifying it. i know it doesn't have a "fly" in the title but popcorn does fly kind of... ok more of a pop
EasyRider Posted April 16, 2005 Report Posted April 16, 2005 Superfly by Curtis Mayfield comes to mind
_jr_ Posted April 16, 2005 Report Posted April 16, 2005 Yes, but Maud's original post says there are no lyrics, folks. I personally think Maud does this to drive us crazy. ::

Uncle Joe Posted April 17, 2005 Report Posted April 17, 2005 Bumble Bee Rock by B. Bumble and the Stingers has a buzzing in it...but it's supposed to be a bee. Do that bee it? Or be it not? That is the question.
Maud Posted April 17, 2005 Author Report Posted April 17, 2005 I FOUND IT!! Oh dear, I was wrong about the word 'fly'... Really sorry about that.. It was 'organ donor' DJ Shadow Check it, it's a cool song
edna Posted April 17, 2005 Report Posted April 17, 2005 Never mind, "fly", "organ donor", it´s very similar... Good you found it, Maud...
_jr_ Posted April 17, 2005 Report Posted April 17, 2005 I told you Maud does this on purpose. Comes in here once in a while, gives some really vague clues, then sits back and laughs at us. "Dance, puppets! Dance!" You should post in some of the other forums Maud.
