golden_ann Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 My pick would have to be Michael Jackson and Paul McCartneyon SAy, Say, Say...who the heck's fault was that atrocity?Phil Collins and Phillip Bailey with Easy Lover, the song was okay but what a strange pairing. Patti Labelle and Michael McDonald with On my own, those two voices didn't enhance but seemed to want to overpower each other. Good song, though.Kim Carnes and Kenny Rogers' Don't fall in love with a Dreamer..it sounded like two men together. LOLI know there are more, and like Arnold said, I'll be bach...
MindCrime Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 Ozzy almost did a duet with Madonna, but she turned him down This isn't really a duet, but Eddie Van Halen playing guitar for Michael Jackson's Beat It was odd Eddie Murphy & Michael Jackson sang a song together, it was awful Eminem & Elton John singing at the grammys
golden_ann Posted August 30, 2004 Author Report Posted August 30, 2004 OMG, Ozzy and Madonna would have been horrendous!I saw that Eminem and Elton fiasco. LOL. talk about a weird pair-up.
golden_ann Posted August 30, 2004 Author Report Posted August 30, 2004 I have another; janet and Michael Jackson. Who else thought that Scream thing was truly scary??(LOL. Michael seems to be coming up here more and more)
bluesboy Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 You've entered the Twilight Zone David Bowie joins Bing Crosby on his Christmas show '77 for a duet of Little Drummer Boy / Peace on Earth
MindCrime Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 LOL. Michael seems to be coming up here more and more The Michael & n*synch crap at the VMA's a few years ago, was utterly frightening
MarcM Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 That whole album with different pop stars singing with Frank Sinatra was a weird concept, but my weirdest duo would have to be David Bowie and Bing Crosby singing "Little Drummer Boy." I get uncomfortable just watching the video...
Danielj Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 Ozzy Osbourne and Miss Piggy singing Born To Be Wild
Batman Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 Jimmy Page and Puff Daddy. yeah, I hate how people hear that riff and think Puffy wrote it.
Aunt_Acid Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 yeah, I hate how people hear that riff and think Puffy wrote it. What song did they do?
miamisammy29 Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 Eddie Murphy & Michael Jackson sang a song together, it was awful And this came as a shock to you!?
miamisammy29 Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 yeah, I hate how people hear that riff and think Puffy wrote it. Why would somebody think such a thing?? Did "Poofy" actually write ANYTHING??
windy1 Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 Re:Jimmy Page and Puff Daddy or PDiddy or Whatever, I can't remember the song, but it was one of the good ones, on a Sat. Nite Live show. I could not believe Page would do that. I'm like Batman, I would hate people to think PD had anything to do with that song. I cringed during that whole performance!
TheCyberdemon Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 Wrong, wrong and wrong. The riff was used in P. Diddy's song "Come With Me", which was the theme for the american Godzilla movie. He perfermed it at the MTV VMAs with a huge orcistra in the background and Mr. Page wailing on the guitar.
skook Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 Page & Diddy used part of "Kashmir" didn't they? On SNL?
windy1 Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 Cyber I won't say you are wrong, but you are only partially correct. If you say there was a performance of a P Diddy song by the twoon MTV, well ok. But they did perform portions of a Zepplin song(and it could very well have been Kashmir) SNL this past season. I didn't dream it!
Batman Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 Why would somebody think such a thing?? Did "Poofy" actually write ANYTHING?? I guess people who have never heard the song. Pippy isn't much of a songwriter, more of a stealer, or as they say in the rap business "Sampler." I read in TV guide that when he was asked to give Ashton Kutcher a VH1 style award, he demanded he get one as well. So they made up some award for him.
TheCyberdemon Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 But they did perform portions of a Zepplin song(and it could very well have been Kashmir) SNL this past season. I didn't dream it! When? Who was host?
windy1 Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 Ok Cyber, I give, uncle. I don't keep statistics on everthing I see and hear as you apparently do. I could research it and find out, but that would crush you're all-knowing ego. I guess the two of us that saw it on SNL were sharing the same dream.
TheCyberdemon Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 Rofl. I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be smart, I really want to know, so I can get the episode and watch it, man I love mirc.
windy1 Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 ok, now I'm sorry(my god what am I saying ). That's 2 decent posts i've read by you tonight, and 1 was a very nice one directed at me. See I knew there was a teddy bear in there somewhere, you just don't let him out very often. Why don't you check SNL's archives for shows from this past year. I don't know who the host was, but they probably list the musical guests. Thanks Cyber.
miamisammy29 Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 Page and Poof Diddly were the musical guest on Saturday Night Live on May 9, 1998.
windy1 Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 Really? I guess I was watching a really old rerun and didn't know it. I"m always at the lake on Sat. nights, usually in the store so I don't pay real close attention. I knew they were on together though. Thanks for clarifying.
