It's gonna be very hard for me to put one over the other tho. I love both my noms. Can't say that happens with me very often.

Hmmm, I'm tempted to nominate White Blood Cells, but the votesplitting...

I've changed my mind about participating and have asked Martin to rescind my nominations, so nominate White Blood Cells without a threat of vote splitting. :D

NO! Don't nominate it, the 00s were about MUCH MORE than Jack White. It's not the votesplitting that bothers me as much as the waste of a nomination.

Pipe down youse! Some of us worship his pasty cadaverous carcus :neener:

Attack & Release ~ The Black Keys

BlackKeys-Attack%26Release.png

Attack & Release is the fifth album by American blues-rock duo, The Black Keys. It is their second release on Nonesuch Records, and the first produced in a studio. It was released on April 1, 2008, and debuted at #14 on the Billboard 200 [1]. The song "I Got Mine" was number 23 on Rolling Stone's list of the 100 Best Songs of 2008.

People who frequent the 'Rate the last album you listened to' topic may have noticed me always giving this album a very high score. To me, it's one of the few albums I know where I love every song on it, I could listen to it everyday, it simply rocks.

Tracks:

1. "All You Ever Wanted"

2. "I Got Mine"

3. "Strange Times"

4. "Psychotic Girl"

5. "Lies"

6. "Remember When (Side A)"

7. "Remember When (Side B)"

8. "Same Old Thing"

9. "So He Won't Break"

10. "Oceans & Streams"

11. "Things Ain't Like They Used to Be"

This youtube user has uploaded all the tracks of the album. Listening advice: I got mine, Strange Times, Psychotic Girl, Oceans & Streams, Lies, Same old thing,...

Seek Magic - Memory Tapes (2009)

The perfect embodiment of the decade, and released at the end of it. Recorded and mixed by Dayve Hawke from his New Jersey residence (under the aliases Weird Tapes and Memory Cassette), shared with the world via a humble blog for two years before going 'viral' when Gorilla vs. Bear unearthed it and shared it with the world. if that isn't enough of an homage to the magic of the internet, the music itself is wonderful and it blends electronic sounds with more spacey sounds without letting either get too overwhelming. It is a splendid album and where the Big Pink failed to deliver, Seek Magic was everything I could have hoped for from Memory Tapes and then some.
