TheLizard
I wouldn't trust my hair to anyone named Chaz. Sounds like the douchebag you see at parties that is rich, white, and wears Kanye blinder glasses while he dances with a preposterously hot chick until he throws up on her. Levis
Ok, hair is slightly damp but smells verreh nice, one of the songs that didn't make it is on repeat (hint: MBV), and everyone's at the edge of their seats. I think this is the perfect moment for: [big]The Songfactors' Choice Top Ten Songs of the 1990s[/big] 1. Runaway Train - Soul Asylum 2. One - U2 3. Losing My Religion - REM 4. Bittersweet Symphony - The Verve 5. No Rain - Blind Melon 6. Under The Bridge - Red Hot Chili Peppers 7. Live Forever - Oasis 8. Jeremy - Pearl Jam 9. Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life) - Green Day 10. December - Collective Soul Pretty representative of the mainstream alternativeness of the 90s, I think. Now bring on the comments while I put together the MOST SHOCKING STATISTICS EVER!!!

MindCrime
wears Kanye blinder glasses I hate those shutter shades, they look ridiculous and don't work well. sorry to hi-jack this thread
MindCrime
I like the 3-way tie at #1, but I don't like how the top 10 is completely Alternative. In fact, only 3 songs in the top 25 are non-alternative, but still rock (i.e. GnR, Metallica, & Kinks). But with that said, I'm glad we can move on to this decade

Farin
I think almost all popular Rock in the 90s was 'Alternative', just as it's called 'Indie' today... if the label is true or not doesn't really matter Edited August 5, 2009 by Guest
c_s_1987
The list consists almost entirely of songs I really like, and it is a pretty good representation of the '90s, despite not covering all of the popular genres of the decade. I'm happy with it.

Viaene
Nice list! very representative for the decade (except for the absence of hiphop/rap songs). However, I personally like the top 11-20 more.
pinkstones
Re: the absence of rap/hip-hop, clearly it's not a genre that the majority of people participating like. I think given what we all like, it was a very good list. Personally, I don't care for either genre, but I would have liked to see Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston, Boyz II Men and similar R&B artists represented. Maybe a thread like this on a different site that has a similar bent would produce different results.
