miamisammy29
*counts on fingers* umm, Sammy? I lost eight of my fingers in a lawn mower accident, you heartless b*stard!! But if you have to remove one, then remove "Guilty". And, Mindcrime, I owe you big time, Dude.
Tenacious_Peaches
Well, this video has to be nominated eventually, so I might as well do it myself: Learn To Fly - Foo Fighters I haven't decided on my second nomination yet, but it could be yet another very popular video featuring Jack Black, Kyle Gass and Dave Grohl (unless someone else beats me to nominating it). I've already posted my noms so it's all yours, brother Chris.
Shawna
My mind is ridiculously blank when it comes to this. So here's my first nom. It appeals to my cheesy romantic side. And she fingers some grapes, which is innocently disturbing. 1. Love Story ~ Taylor Swift and my second... Not a particular favorite of mine song-wise, but the video is dreamily romantic. And Stevie Nicks does some bad ballet. 2. Gypsy ~ Fleetwood Mac oh yeah... this was the very first "World Premiere Video" on MTV in '82. And it seems like I remember it winning a Best Video award that year, but I can't find any documentation... so disregard that part.

MindCrime
if anyone is feeling that way they can PT me and I can give them some suggestions Another good place to look is the MTV Video Music Award winners page. BTW, how much longer do we have to put up nominations?
MindCrime
You Might Think - The Cars (1984)This was the first music video to use computerized graphics and it revolutionized visual effects, and was ahead of its time.It won the first ever MTV Video Music Award for Best Video of the Year, beating out Michael Jackson's "Thriller" & many others. Warner Bros. removed the video, so here's another link to the video.
edna
The videos from "Heartbeat City" (the album) are very good and very famous. "Drive" was directed by Timothy Hutton and "Hello Again" by Andy Warhol. In fact, I remember worked in TV by then and we had all those videos to air... I was sure Warhol directed some more... Lucky
BTW, how much longer do we have to put up nominations? Plenty of time, don't worry. I'm only just now able to Youtube, and I've got some deciding to do. This train isn't going anywhere without me along for the ride! Several that I'd thought of are already here. This is going to be tough, but fun.

Lucky
I thought this would be hard for me, but I've got too many. This is not a nomination, but in researching this subject I found this one, that has been argued to be the "first" music video. Circa 1961, it was produced by Ozzie Nelson, for Ricky. MindCrime
Can somebody private me when nominations are within 24 hours of closing, so I can post my other nomination. I've got it down from 30 to 20, thanks to people nominating videos that were on my list.
LeeBB
A couple of relatively simple but classic Rock videos: Jailbreak - AC/DC - 1973 (those clothes that Angus is wearing... they were called "Convict Pyjamas" and they were the height of fashion for 8-year-old Aussies in '73) Beautiful Day - U2 LBB Edited January 12, 2009 by Guest

LeeBB
If we include feature films, then I might have to re-think my noms... A Hard Day's Night - The Beatles You're Gonna Lose That Girl - The Beatles But then I;d have to lose Jailbreak. AgghHHH! LBB

edna
Do clips from feature rock films (e.g. Tommy or The Wall) count as music videos? I think they should... I nominated "Help" which is considered like the first video in history... (I think "Subterranean Homesick Blues" must be the other "first video", I don´t know what video came first... amazing video by the way, which of course has my vote)

MindCrime
I had so many I wanted to nominate, but couldn't fit in. I'd like to give an honorable mention to This Note's For You - Neil Young Which I believe was the first video to be banned by MTV for it's anti-commercialism message, but incidentally won the 1989 MTV Video of the Year as a result. Other Honorable Mentions: Virtual Insanity - Jamiroquai Jeremy - Pearl Jam
