Otokichi Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 Here's a link to this blue Thursday of a song by Jim Croce: http://mog.com/music/Jim_Croce
Udo Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 What, no Manic Monday? Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting, says Bernie Taupin (using Elton John's voice). And I'm fairly certain that there are Eight Days a Week. The eighth day is Lazy Day (by Spanky & Our Gang).
Guest Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 check out the songfacts I posted for Dashing Away With A Smoothing Iron The Gasman Cometh
invisible_r Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 "Friday I'm in love" by the Cure has every day in the lyrics
Dappled Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 Stormy Monday has all the days in the lyrics too! Here's the classic Little Joe Cook version (Chris Farlowe). Hear the story about this recording here.
sparkplug54 Posted July 8, 2008 Report Posted July 8, 2008 Lorrie Morgan has a really good song (and a big country hit) with all the days in the lyrics. Sorry, don't know the title. I got the artist from my wife.
Nancy Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 There's a Beatles song called "Eight Days A Week" That's pretty inclusive.
Udo Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 (edited) Journey has a song "On a Saturday Night." And then there's S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y Night. Manic Monday And there's Mr. Saturday Night Special, which isn't about a day of the week at all. Edited July 9, 2008 by Guest
Nancy Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 And there's "Another Saturday Night" by Cat Stevens, a popular day amongst song writers it seems. There's also "I don't Like Monday's" by the Boom Town Rats.
Udo Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 (edited) And there's "Another Saturday Night" by Cat Stevens Sam Cooke Fixed. Much better. Edited July 9, 2008 by Guest
MindCrime Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 "Everyday of the Week" by Jade lists each day in the repeated chorus. It's a hip-hop song.
Tenacious_Peaches Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 ^ Oh snap, I used to love that song!
a_baron Posted March 15, 2010 Report Posted March 15, 2010 Folk Song - Bernard Cribbins? The Gasman Cometh - Flanders & Swann
JumboXL Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 (edited) The Equals (frontman Eddy Grant) had a hit in the 60's called Police On My Back. The Clash covered it. "Well I'm running, police on my back I've been hiding, police on my back There was a shooting, police on my back And the victim well he wont come back I been running Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday Runnin Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday What have I done? What have I done?" The Cure: Friday I'm In Love: "I don't care if Monday's blue Tuesday's gray and Wednesday too Thursday I don't care about you It's Friday, I'm in love Monday you can fall apart Tuesday, Wednesday break my heart Oh, Thursday doesn't even start It's Friday I'm in love Saturday, wait And Sunday always comes too late But Friday, never hesitate... I don't care if Mondays black Tuesday, Wednesday - heart attack Thursday, never looking back It's Friday, I'm in love Monday, you can hold your head Tuesday, Wednesday stay in bed Or Thursday - watch the walls instead It's Friday, I'm in love Saturday, wait And Sunday always comes too late But Friday, never hesitate..." The Easybeats only cover the working week in Friday On My mind: "Monday morning feels so bad Everybody seems to nag me Come on Tuesday I feel better Even my old man looks good Wednesday just won't go Thursday goes too slow I've got Friday on my mind Gonna have fun in the city Be with my girl, she's so pretty She looks fine tonight She is outa' sight to me Tonight, I'll paint it red Tonight, I'll lose my head Tonight, I've got to get tonight Monday I have Friday on my mind" Edited March 18, 2010 by Guest
Brad_M Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 Although nothing to do with the song title, I thought this remix version was interesting since it mentions all 7 days of the week over a dozen times. It may be a catchy melody but it gets irritating after only one listen. Dontcha just hate some remixes? Remix version
