Farin Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 (edited) It's a generation joke. To one generation the bass line calls to mind Bowie/Queen. Another generation immediately thinks "Ice Ice Baby." either a generation or a "what kind of music do you like" kind of thing That comic would be even better if it had the music in the background as you read it, so you get an idea what it's referring to beforehand. yeah, I had absolutely no idea what they were talking about until the last panel... skybluesky Posted January 26, 2009 Report Posted January 26, 2009 I never thought anything would make me not love bacon, but that did it.
Shawna Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 heavens, Farin, I'll never be able to look at another Pepsi again without picturing that.
MindCrime Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 Always check your child's homework, LOL!!! (Here's the reply the teacher received the following day) Dear Mrs. Jones, I wish to clarify that I am not now, nor have I ever been, an exotic dancer. I work at Home Depot and I told my daughter how hectic it was last week before the blizzard hit. I told her we sold out every single shovel we had, and then I found one more in the back room, and that several people were fighting over who would get it. Her picture doesn't show me dancing around a pole. It's supposed to depict me selling the last snow shovel we had at Home Depot. From now on I will remember to check her homework more thoroughly before she turns it in. Sincerely, Mrs. Smith
Shawna Posted February 26, 2009 Report Posted February 26, 2009 intriguingly, upon my first glance at that picture, I thought she was hoisting an axe. Then I saw all the people shoving money at her and realized what it was supposed to be.
