OldBitty Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 (edited) My cousin and I are trying to ID a song he heard a while back on a friend's CD. Apparently it was sort of a "happy" rock song that lead to a somewhat screaming kind of chorus in which the lyrics were "you've got to have faith". That's all he remembers about it. Any clue what song this might be? Edited March 28, 2008 by Guest title
Otokichi Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 Is it George Michael's "Faith"? (It's the only song that comes to mind, even though it's not that old.)
indigoboo Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 Both Violent Femmes "Faith" and Maria McKee's "You Gotta Sin to Get Saved" fit the bill, but neither of them was a radio hit or anything.
Jenny Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 It sounds like the Limp Bizkit remake of George Michael's "Faith". I can't access You Tube on this computer, or I'd add a clip on for you, but go check it out and see if that's it. Welcome to Songfacts, OldBitty.
blind-fitter Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 Limp Bizkit covering George Michael's "Faith"? Sounds like the worst of living nightmares. Popular culture, eh? Where did it all go wrong?
Levis Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 Isn't Limp Bizkit's version of Faith mashed up with their version of Bowie's 'Fame' so that their chorus is 'Fame'? I've heard... maybe 30 seconds of it, so I'm not quite sure
Jenny Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 You made it through 30 seconds of Limp Bizkit? you are a braver soul than I!
Levis Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 They were the last 30 seconds and I was too traumatised by what I heard to move. Not as traumatised as when I heard the Verve/Motley Crue mashup. I had to hold on to something to keep myself up
phil Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 That really sucked. Thank you Martin for ruining me for life.
