Ombre Vivante
I think there's a few on here who'd tell you a crush can last 20 or 30 years...at least. : ) Send her what you love...if she hates it, you've got your answer. If a crush lasts more than a year, I'd be ready for a padded cell, but I like the notion of making a compilation of songs I love for somebody else. I think it's something I've done all along anyway! Hey, lemme throw 'nuther log into the fire: The The's "Uncertain Smile" Peeling the skin back from my eyes I felt suprised that the time on the clock was the time I usually retired to the place where I cleared my head of you but just for today I think I'll lie here and dream of you I've got you under my skin where the rain can't get in but if the sweat pours out just shout I'll try to swim and pull you out A howling wind blows the litter as the rain flows As street lamps pour orange colored shapes through your windows a broken soul stares from a pair of watering eyes uncertain emotions force an uncertain smile I've got you under my skin where the rain can't get in but if the sweat pours out just shout I'll try to swim and pull you out

_Laurie_
My Eyes Adored You (always loved this song) -Artist: Frankie Valli from ""Very Best Of Frankie Valli": MCA 3198 -peak Billboard position # 1 for 1 week in 1974-75 -Words and Music by Bob Crewe and Kenny Nolan CHORUS My eyes adored ya Though I never laid a hand on you My eyes adored ya Like a million miles away from me you couldn't see how I adored ya So close, so close and yet so far Carried your books from school Playin' "make-believe you're married to me" You were fifth-grade, I was sixth When we came to be Walkin' home every day over Barnegat Bridge and Bay Till we grew into the me and you Went our separate ways CHORUS Headed for city lights Climbed the ladder up to fortune and fame I worked my fingers to the bone Made myself a name Funny I seemed to find That no matter how the years unwind Still I reminisce 'bout the girl I miss And the love I left behind CHORUS (My eyes adored ya) All my life I will remember (Though I never laid a hand on you) How warm and tender we were way back then, whoa, whoa, baby (Like a million miles away from me you couldn't see how I adored ya) Oh, the feeling, sad regrets (So close, so close and yet so far) I know I won't ever forget ya, my childhood friend (My eyes adored ya) (Though I never laid a hand on you) (My eyes adored ya) (Like a million miles away from me you couldn't see how I adored ya) FADE So close, so close and yet so far
Jk
That sounds like a very sweet thing to do for someone. Some songs I though of are "Oh! Darling" and "You Wont See Me" by the Beatles and "If Only" by Hanson, by that's just off of the top of head.
Ombre Vivante
You need to neg this chick once in a while. Garish clothes and gaudy jewelry on you will also do wonders, but you need to add the swagger. I think it was set down in stone as the 11th commandment: thou shalt adhere to teh ladder theory. LADDER THEORY, MAN
edna
You don´t deserve to be treated like this... if a friend I love showed me his/her lack of interest that way, I´d live my life and just turn the page. Not that is easy but it can be done. Find someone and focus all your energy and love on that new person. Life is short...

Ken
Date her sister and give her a disc with but one song on it... The Eagles "Already Gone" Well, I heard some people talkin' just the other day And they said you were gonna put me on a shelf But let me tell you I got some news for you And you'll soon find out it's true And then you'll have to eat your lunch all by yourself 'Cause I'm already gone And I'm feelin' strong I will sing this vict'ry song, woo, hoo, hoo, woo, hoo, hoo The letter that you wrote me made me stop and wonder why But I guess you felt like you had to set things right Just remember this, my girl, when you look up in the sky You can see the stars and still not see the light (that's right) And I'm already gone And I'm feelin' strong I will sing this vict'ry song, woo, hoo, hoo, woo, hoo,hoo Well I know it wasn't you who held me down Heaven knows it wasn't you who set me free So often times it happens that we live our lives in chains And we never even know we have the key But me, I'm already gone And I'm feelin' strong I will sing this vict'ry song 'Cause I'm already gone Yes, I'm already gone And I'm feelin' strong I will sing this vict'ry song 'Cause I'm already gone Yes, I'm already gone Already gone All right, nighty-night
KentH
If we're going to bring Alice Cooper into the mix, I have to recommend How You Gonna see Me Now? Dear darling, surprised to hear from me? Bet you're sitting drinking coffee, Yawning sleepily. Just to let you know I'm gonna be home soon. I'm kinda awkward and afraid. Time has changed your point of view. How you gonna see me now? Please don't see me ugly, babe, 'Cause I know I let you down In, oh, so many ways. How you gonna see me now Since we've been on our own? Are you gonna love the man When the man gets home? Listen, darling, now I'm heading for the west. Straightened out my head, But my old heart is still a mess. Yes, I'm worried honey. Guess that's natural though. It's like I'm waiting for a welcome sign Like a hobo in the snow. How you gonna see me now? Please, don't see me ugly, babe, 'Cause I know I let you down In, oh, so many ways. How you gonna see me now Since we've been on our own? Are you gonna love the man When the man gets home? And just like the first time, We're just strangers again. I might have grown out of style In the place I've been. And just like the first time, I'll be shaking inside. When I walk in the door, There'll be no place to hide. How you gonna see me now? Please, dont see me ugly, babe, 'Cause I feel like I let you down In, oh, so many ways. Udo
Queen's Sail Away Sweet Sister comes to mind. I Want You to Want Me by Cheap Trick by the way, if you get Alanis Morisette's Uninvited as response, it's time to move on.
