  1. Some guy on another website made mine. It shows the word Batman, then the Batman logo, then it shows Homer playing the guitar with a mop on his head, in the episode where he meets the Who, which is my favorite TV show.
  2. Its weird how someday 'classic rock' will be 'nsync and Linkin Park. It makes me sad. So sad, I think I will put a thumbs down style emoticon I can think of some good bands today, but they still don't feel like classic rock.
  3. Beastie Boys a better rock group than the Jimi Hendrix experience? better than Black Sabbath? whaaaaa?
  4. Avril Lavine. She has an amazing voice, lyrics, and guitars. :neener:just kidding!
  5. Here are some good ones How the West was Won. 3 disc set of Zeppelin live in concert. You haven't heard Zeppelin until you have heard them live. I couldn't believe how incredibly improved almost all of the songs were. Led Zeppelin, Early Days & Latter Days I would recommend this more for casual Zeppelin fans, or beginning fans, which by your signature I can tell you aren't. It is 2 discs, 23 songs in all, basically a hit parade. I liked it, but if you allready own Led Zeppelin CD's this will be a lot of stuff you allready have.
  6. Its good. I like Dark Side of the Moon better.
  7. There was a thread a while back I couldn't find about songs where the title only appears in the lyrics once, and it is in the last line of the song. I forget the first 2, but someone said there were only 3 songs like that. One was about blueberries, I think. Anyway, I couldn't find the thread, but I found the song, it is "Still Raining, Still Dreaming" by Jimi Hendrix. here are the lyrics Rainy day, rain all day Ain't no use in gettin' uptight Just let it groove its own way Let it drain your worries away yeah Lay back and groove on a rainy day hey Lay back and dream on a rainy day Lay back and groove on a rainy day Lay back Oh yeah ! Lay back and groove on a rainy day Lay back and groove on a rainy day Lay back and dream on a rainy day Lay back and groove on a rainy day Lay back and dream on a rainy day Lay back and, lay back, lay back, lay back and groove. Ooh Aaaah ! Lay back and groove on a rainy day Lay back and groove on a rainy day Lay back and groove on a rainy day Lay back and groove on a rainy day Lay back and dream on a rainy day. Still rainin' still dreamin'
  8. a couple of questions about Jimi Hendrix's Electric Ladyland album. 1. I saw it said on windowsmedia.com that "All Along the Watchtower" had explicit content, and said PARENTAL ADVISORY. What are they talking about? 2. What is "1983 a merman I should turn to be" about? Is it about someone who doesn't like the world, commits suicide, and is reborn as a merman? 3. Also on Windowsmedia.com, it said there was both "Electric Ladyland" and "Electric Ladyland pt. 1" Whats with that? 4. What is "Burning Of the Midnight Lamp" about?
  9. All I have to say about that is this. There is a fifth dimension, beyond that which is known to man. A dimension of sight, sound, and of mind. You are taking a journey to a woundrous place of both things and ideas, you've just crossed over into...The Twilight Zone. yeah I memorized the theme song. I'm a loser.
  10. funny you mention it, because last night on south park, all the kids were found to have ADD, and so they all got ritalin, and decided to go to a Phil Collins concert. Chef runs to the pharmacy before its too late, and tells them to stop selling ritalin. He then says "I didn't want to have to tell you this, but...the kids like Phil Collins. Of course, the pharmacy is shocked, and decides to stop selling it.
  11. yeah, that was me who asked. strong words.
  12. Jack Black might play a good Ozzy, he is pretty crazy in his movies, but a different kind of crazy than Ozzy. Ozzy is a drunker, sleepier crazy. Maybe Johnny Depp could play a good Ozzy, he is a good actor. He could play early Ozzy.
  13. Jimi Hendrix, Axis: Bold as love, and Electric Ladyland
  14. Eric Clapton was still good after leaving Cream, of course.
  15. I don't think they are one hit wonders, what about Jailbreak?
  16. When I first heard "Whole Lotta Love" I thought the first line was "You need Kool-aid." and that it was some kind of koolaid endorsment. Then I found out it was actually 'you need coolin'. Of course, "Skuse me while I kiss the sky" like many I thought was "Kiss this guy" This one isn't funny, but when I heard Sweet Home Alabama, the line "Neil Young can remember, a southern man don't need him around" I thought was "Seven men don't need him around" which makes sense cause aren't there 7 members of Skynyrd?
  17. Most popular "hard rock" bands today. Popular is the key word there. I mean popular like getting heavy airplay on VH1 and MTV. I think that they are really relying on their image and loudness instead of good songwriting, which is really whats most important. It also doesn't really sound too heavy. For example, Nickleback, considered a hard rock band for some reason. But I think that playing Black Dog on an acoustic guitar would sound more like hard rock than any of their songs. Even though it is less loud and distorted, its the overall sound of the song that is important. Also, most of the preteen punk bands today, but I think everyones allready covered them. The main point, once again, image is more important than sound. And they have a stupid image anyways.
  18. I heard on the radio that Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne plan on writing a movie about Ozzy's life. They don't know who will play Ozzy yet, but they are trying to get Johnny Depp to play him. Discuss
  19. Batman

    21 Grams

It was very good, very interesting. I like the way they did the plot, which you really don't find out til the end. It seemed like he wrote the storyboard, cut it up, and threw it around, but it was good.
  20. Yeah, lindsay lohan did much better in SNL then I thought she would. Me and a couple of friends just went in saw it. It was very funny. I wonder if high school girls are really that mean? I don't notice it. Oh, and the SNL guy (I forgot his name) that played the principal was funny. The mom (a SNL girl, I forget her name too) played the mom, and she was funny. "I'm a cool mom!" or then "You 2 need anything? Some snacks, condoms?" And Tina Fey did a good job writing the script. And since it has been out so long, it only cost me 3 bucks to see it, so that made the movie even better! I would recomend it. But this thread probably started long ago, so its out of theaters now, exept for the really small ones.
  21. Thats good, another political argument! ::
  22. Does "Inna-gadda-da-vida" By Iron butterfly count? because i don't think they ever had any other hits.
  23. L.A. Drone on "How the West Was Won". 14 seconds of fans cheering and guitar drone. Little wing, 2 minutes. A lot of songs on "The Wall", less than 2 minutes. "She Bangs" by William hung, around 30 seconds (I got it on Kazaa).
