  1. Toby Keith's song "You Shouldn't Kiss Me Like This" is another one for the situation. excerpt from the song: "..They're all watchin' us now They think we're falling in love They'd never believe we're just friends When you kiss me like this I think you mean it like that If you do baby kiss me again.."
  2. It's not a 'recent' group but the first thing that came to my mind is The Doors, "Break on Through (To the Other Side). CLICK HERE to listen to sample on Amazon
  3. Gordon Lightfoot sings the first song, "SUNDOWN" Lyrics: I can see her lyin? back in her satin dress In a room where ya do what ya don?t confess Sundown ya better take care If I find you been creepin? ?round my back stairs Sundown ya better take care If I find you been creepin? ?round my back stairs She?s been lookin? like a queen in a sailor?s dream And she don?t always say what she really means Sometimes I think it?s a shame When I get feelin? better when I?m feelin? no pain Sometimes I think it?s a shame When I get feelin? better when I?m feelin? no pain I can picture every move that a man could make Getting lost in her lovin? is your first mistake Sundown ya better take care If I find you been creepin? ?round my back stairs Sometimes I think it?s a sin When I feel like I?m winnin? when I?m losin again I can see her lookin? fast in her faded jeans She?s a hard lovin? woman, got me feelin? mean Sometimes I think it?s a shame When I get feelin? better when I?m feelin? no pain Sundown ya better take care If I find you been creepin? ?round my back stairs Sundown ya better take care If I find you been creepin? ?round my back stairs Sometimes I think it?s a sin When I feel like I?m winnin? when I?m losin? again
  4. OK I have your answer... (I hope) The song is LOVE by Nat King Cole. L-O-V-E Lyrics L is for the way you look at me O is for the only one I see V is very, very extraordinary E is even more than anyone that you adore can Love is all that I can give to you Love is more than just a game for two Two in love can make it Take my heart and please don't break it Love was made for me and you L is for the way you look at me O is for the only one I see V is very, very extraordinary E is even more than anyone that you adore can Love is all that I can give to you Love is more than just a game for two Two in love can make it Take my heart and please don't break it Love was made for me and you Love was made for me and you Love was made for me and you It may be possible that more 'male' artists have re made this song? I remember hearing a female sing this song in a car commercial. As it turns out, it could be the singer Fisher, because she also sings a remake of this song on the 'How to lose a guy in 10 days' movie soundtrack? I'm not sure though.
  5. Hi there, Welcome to Songfacts! :: The song you are looking for is by Nina Gordon titled "Tonight and the Rest of My Life". CLICK HERE to go to Amazon to listen to the sound sample. Lyrics: down to the earth i fell with dripping wings heavy things won't fly and the sky might catch on fire and burn the axis of the world that's why i prefer a sunless sky to the glittering and stinging in my eyes i feel so light this is all i want to feel tonight i feel so light tonight and the rest of my life gleaming in the dark sea i'm as light as air floating there breathlessly when the dream dissolves i open up my eyes i realize that everything is shoreless sea a weightlessness is passing over me everything is waves and stars the universe is resting in my arms
  6. Congrats on your new position Bobo! Are you sure your new duties won't conflict with your Scrabble obsession? :: It is a real treat to see you as a moderator. :: In lieu of the sash, you should grab a chair and whip. Did you not know we can be an unruly bunch here when the mod's are away! I like this new forum. I have nothing to contribute yet, but, when I do your finger better be ready on that 'delete' button! :: Congrats again! -Brian
  7. Hey Cosmosis, You totally made my day! I just downloaded Win Amp and the plug in. It works beautifully!! :: What's even better is that Win Amp is tied in with E-music. E music currently has a promo for 50 free songs. Their selection is not all that great but their download format is MP3!! Thanks again! You ROCK!!
  8. Is this your way of saying, "Hey folks there is a new forum in town, and it's called MUSIC NEWS ?" ::
  9. AWESOME NEWS!!! I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU AND SARA! :: A big heartfelt CONGRATULATIONS to the both of you, as well as other mod's and/or contributors that make this site such a great place. WAY TO GO!!! Is it too early to start celebrating now? ::
  10. Eventually, the users on dial up will thank you, but they are STILL waiting for the page to load. ::
  11. Looks like your prayer was ANSWERED Muzik! :: I for one say AMEN!!! ::
  12. Mike, that's a great idea! I recently found out that there is 'Notify Moderator' icon at the bottom of each post. However, I used this feature yesterday to have Amy delete a link in one of my old posts-that now goes to a objectionable picture. Anyway, I also PM'd her at the same time and the PM got to her first. So my question is, how does the 'Notify Moderator' function work? Does it send a PM to only the moderators of that forum? Ideally, what would be really neat is for all 'notify mod alerts' to get posted on a 'communal' type message board rather than just PM'd to one particular moderator. That way, if the mods for one board are both away, another mod can take action. (I hope this makes sense?) (Geez, leave it to me to create more work for Sara! :: ) Another thing is, I totally agree that it is up to the users of this board to help out the moderators!! I think everyone has come across really bad examples of poor conduct among users. When this happens, the best thing to do is to notify a moderator! The mods do an awesome job of stepping in and making sure things don't get out of hand. Like Mike said, they can't be everywhere or read every single post, so they can really benefit from everyday users that are out there! -Brian
  13. I personally don't listen to Nickelback, but that doesn't mean I hate them either. It has been really sad to see honest request's by new users in the QnA forum get 'crapped' on by people that feel the need to express their one word vocabulary... 'SUCKS'. Either post some help or take your rant to the music discussion. Get it? Let this thread be an example of how to properly put a voice to your opinion. I would have posted this link before but that would have really taken the QnA thread over the brink. Anyway, here is the 'proof': Nickelback Prolific Songwriters??
  14. Brian

    Worst film?

It does not get any worse than HEARTBEEPS . This movie starred Andy Kaufman and Bernadette Peters as two robots searching for love. When I went to go see this people actually got up and left the theatre before it was even halfway over! The four star rating on IMDB is much too generous!
  15. I have to second Cindy's suggestion of Pink Floyd "Us and Them". That is very melodic. Another melodic Floyd song (similar to Us and Them IMO )"Wearing the Inside Out". Another great-outside of the Floyd realm- is Silent Lucidity by Queensryche!
  16. Well, if Mike is going to do it then so am I!! WELCOME BACK EGGPLANT WE MISSED YOU!!! I was thinking of you on JUNE 22nd. Did you happen to watch the show? I still have it on TIVO. I can make a copy of it for you if you want. PM me if you missed it. It's nice to see you back! :: :: Sorry Ben for hijacking your thread. Did you ever get that book I PM'd you about?
  17. Under the same thought concept as Nicole-"songs I wouldn't listen to otherwise". Here is my list of songs... why dont you come with me little girl on a MAGIC CARPET RIDE -Steppenwolf SONG 2 - BLUR WOOO HOOOO BOOM - POD [F-18 or other explosives not required for the above songs. They jam, and the links above are not meant for political purposes. They are there so you can download the video and listen to the full song to see if you like it.] :: :: :: Higher Ground - Red Hot Chili Peppers Good Vibrations - Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch Seven Nation Army - White Stripes Crazy - Seal Gonna Make you Sweat (everybody dance now) -CC and the Music Factory Pump up the Jam - Technotronic Born to Run - Bruce Springsteen Ray of Light - Madonna Lose Yourself - Eminem Crazy on You - Heart Proud Mary - take your pick but Tina Turner has a very fast rhythm version-very good for cycling or running or aerobics. Are You Going to Be My Girl - Jet Thunderstruck - AC DC Shake a Leg - AC DC Also, when I was really into jogging, I would listen to the classical portions of the Rocky soundtrack while I was walking to the place to start my run (or while warming up). So as cheesy as it sounds there is a lot of material on that soundtrack. Also, I love Gloria Estefan's song REACH. There is a "NBC Olympic Version" so it goes along with athletics. The lyrics are awesome and really drive a person to become more centered and go the distance. Last but not least, another diva with an 'olympic' song is Linda Eder. The song is 'Gold'. She sang this to the performance by ice skater Kristy Yamaguchi during the opening ceremonies of the 2002 Olympic Ceremonies. It is worth looking into! :: Cheers!
  18. Did anyone other than me get a laugh out of the thread subjects in this forum? *EX-LAX How was I to know?* followed by *The Tides flowed freely* :: On a seperate subject, I think I can actually top this story. Imagine being in the military, on a field exercise, and a whole company being fed a bad batch of eggs! Yup, thats right a whole company of 30+ men (including yours truly) in the middle of winter, no toilets, with a bad case of the runs. I don't know how ex lax works, but food poisoning works it way through about every hour. So I guess you could say that night was the only night that our company didnt have to worry about anyone sleeping on guard duty! ::
  19. The nation?s second largest Blues festival gets underway July 2nd on the waterfront in downtown Portland. This four day long event is yet another fine celebration of music in the outdoors. If you are into Blues music, and are in the area you should definitely attend! The price of admission is only $5 plus two cans of non-perishable food per day. There are no seats in front of the main stage so bring a blanket or chairs if you go. CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO
  20. Well, I typed her name into an internet site that is focused on hard to find CD's, LP's, and out of print music... www.MusicStack.com . According to that site the song is "HIGH". GOOGLE lets you search for images too. ::
  21. ?Have you heard your favorite song yet? No doubt you will. But if you don?t, do me a favor, complain! Tell ten friends, send passionate e-mails, corral people at the water cooler, and explain why the song YOU love should be on the list, or ranked higher. When you do this, AFI has achieved its goal: To spark a national dialogue about how great movies and great songs make beautiful music together. These discussions drive millions of people back to the classics of American Film. That?s our ultimate goal. So let the chorus of opinion begin, it is music to our ears.? -Jean Picker Firstenberg AFI Director and CEO
  22. Well, it's still playing on the West Coast, but the list is already out. Click here for the TOP 100 SONGS.
  23. Check again, that song just made #74 on the list.
  24. I'm with you BeatleAnt.... "Over the Rainbow" has GOT to place in the single digits!
  25. Mindcrime, you are killing me! :: I've honestly never seen the video, and I am a huge Floyd fan. Does anyone have any suggestions for catching any Floyd videos? I am not a huge fan of MTV or VH1. One time I sat through VH1 classic in hopes of some Floyd videos. I never saw any, and had to sit through two videos by Swing Out Sister for my efforts! *shudders*
