  1. I'm not sure if this is it, but the first song on the soundtrack is "America" by Simon & Garfunkel. Try this - click on this link Amazon and scroll down until you see the "Listen to Samples" section. "America" is the first song listed. See (or hear) if it rings a bell. Hope this helps! ::
  2. Go, go, go, go Go, go, go Gilli It's your wedding day We gon' party like it's yo wedding day We gon' sip Bacardi like it's yo wedding day 'Cause you know we don't give a flip It's not yo wedding day!
  3. Sally Field has my vote for actress. She is versatile, which is the most important quality in an actor. I own "Steel Magnolias", have seen it approximately 14,753 times, and I still cry with her during the graveyard scene. She was absolutely hilarious in "Soapdish" - just completely over-the-top funny. Speaking of "Soapdish"...she co-starred with... Kevin Kline has my vote for actor. Again, he is versatile. Comedy, drama, stage, screen, singing...come on. "The Ice Storm" was brilliant, as was "A Fish Called Wanda". "And don't call me stupid!"
  4. I can't narrow it down to 10, so here is my top 25... All That Jazz - Chicago As Time Goes By - Casablanca Beauty and the Beast ? Beauty and the Beast Coal Miner's Daughter ? Coal Miner?s Daughter Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend ? Gentlemen Prefer Blondes Don't Cry For Me, Argentina - Evita Endless Love ? Endless Love Eye of the Tiger ? Rocky III Fame - Fame I Will Always Love You ? The Bodyguard Jailhouse Rock ? Jailhouse Rock Moon River ? Breakfast at Tiffany?s My Heart Will Go On ? Titanic Over the Rainbow ? Wizard of Oz Rainbow Connection ? The Muppet Movie Rock Around the Clock ? Blackboard Jungle The Rose ? The Rose Singin' in the Rain ? Singin? in the Rain The Sound of Music ? The Sound of Music Stayin' Alive ? Saturday Night Fever Theme from Shaft - Shaft (I've Had) The Time of My Life ? Dirty Dancing The Way We Were ? The Way We Were Wind Beneath My Wings - Beaches You Light Up My Life ? You Light Up My Life I think the top 3 will be some combination of "Over the Rainbow", "I Will Always Love You", and "My Heart Will Go On." I can't wait to watch the show. I am a complete sucker for countdowns. I don't care what is being counted down, but by God, if it has a top ten, I'm there. I even watch the countdowns on Country Music Television. Coincedentally, "I Will Always Love You" by Dolly Parton was the greatest country love song of all time. Tenacious D alert! "Let's Get It On" sung by Jack Black in "High Fidelity" was on the AFI list. We can only hope it is somewhere on the countdown.
  5. BB, I knew this thread would stir something inside you. Thanks for all the great input. "At Last" is one of my top 5 songs. Such emotion in Etta's voice.

  10. I can't believe I forgot about "Moon River" and "The Way We Were." I also can't believe that "Big Bottom" from "This Is Spinal Tap" is on the ballot. Screw "Over The Rainbow"...this has got my vote! :: Big Bottom Spinal Tap The bigger the cushion, the sweeter the pushin' That's what I said. The looser the waistband, the deeper the quicksand, Or so I have read. My baby fits me like a flesh tuxedo. I like to sink her with my pink torpedo. Big bottom, Big bottom, Talk about bum cakes, My girl's got 'em. Big bottom, Drive me out of my mind. How could I leave this behind? I saw her on monday, 'twas my lucky bun day, You know what I mean. I love her each week day, each velvety cheek day, You know what I mean. My love gun's loaded and she's in my sights, Big game is waiting there inside her tights. Big bottom, Big bottom, Talk about mud flaps, My girl's got 'em. Big bottom, Drive me out of my mind. How could I leave this behind?
  11. Damn it, I'm falling down on my job. :beady:
  12. "Call Me" by Blondie. Reminds me of Gere in "American Gigolo".
  13. Just because they are funny does not mean the D is not classified as music. Kyle is an amazing guitarist. And the lyrics are certified genius. Who else could write these words of spun gold? This is our song of exultant joy because We only came to kick some a**. Rock the f**kin' house and kick some a**. What we gonna do with all the cash? Smoke hash, and then we thrash. We'll throw a big ol' bash y'all. And everyone is invited to the bash. And everyone you're all invited to the bash! Oh yeah, Guns & Roses did rule...15 years ago.
  14. At least we can all take comfort in the fact that Adrian will now be played by Scarlett Johansson or some other twenty year old with perky boobs and a flat stomach. :beady: But I'm not bitter...
  15. The Exorcist is one of my favorite movies. Why intercourse with something so great? I understand that it is not a remake, but still...leave it alone. Growing up, I only saw The Exorcist on TV. I didn't realize until the remastered version came out a few years ago how wild and vulgar it really was. Regan and the crucifix? Wow. It didn't seem like a 30 year old movie, which is a testament to its greatness. One of the funniest parts about Austin Powers 2 was when his chair was spinning out of control and he says "I need an old priest and a young priest. May the power of Christ compel you." Did I go completely off topic? Forgive me, please.
  16. Who are some of your favorite R&B acts (any era)? Some of mine are (in no particular order)... Stevie Wonder Chaka Khan Aretha Franklin Al Green Marvin Gaye Tina Turner Luther Vandross Alicia Keys I apologize in advance for the great ones I've forgotten! ::
  17. "The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost is my favorite poem. I feel like it sums up my life and how I got to this point. At 18, I never would have imagined I would be where I am right now at 35. Although I never made the "conventional" choices in my life, I know I am happier now than I would have been "doing the right thing". I've always said I had to go halfway across the country to find myself. And that has made all the difference... The Road Not Taken Robert Frost Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same, And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.
  18. My darling Batman, Here are the lyrics to "Cat Scratch Fever". If you can't figure it out, I'm not telling you! Peaches :: CAT SCRATCH FEVER Ted Nugent Well I don't know where they come from But they sure do come I hope they comin' for me And I don't know how they do it But they sure do it good I hope they doin' it for free They give me cat scratch fever Cat scratch fever The first time that I got it I was just ten years old I got it from some kitty next door I went and see the Dr. and He gave me the cure I think I got it some more They give me cat scratch fever Cat scratch fever It's nothin dangerous I feel no pain I've got to ch-ch-change You know you got it when you're going insane It makes a grown man cryin' cryin' Won't you make my bed I make the pussy purr with the stroke of my hand They know they gettin' it from me They know just where to go When they need their lovin man They know I do it for free They give me cat scratch fever Cat scratch fever
  19. I have always thought it was about finding true love after going through heartbreak. A ribbon in the sky could be a rainbow, and you can't see the beauty of a rainbow without going through the rain. Oh, Stevie, how I love you! RIBBON IN THE SKY Stevie Wonder Oh so long for this night I prayed That a star would guide you my way To share with me this special day Where a ribbon's in the sky for our love If allowed may I touch your hand And if pleased may I once again So that you too will understand There's a ribbon in the sky for our love Do...Do... Do Do Do Do Do... HMM HMM... This is not a coincidence And far more than a lucky chance But what is that was always meant Is our ribbon in the sky for our love, love We can't lose with God on our side We'll find strength in each tear we cry From now on it will be you and I And our ribbon in the sky Ribbon in the sky A ribbon in the sky for our love
  20. One - A Chorus Line Life is a Cabaret - Cabaret All That Jazz - Chicago When You?re Good to Mama - Chicago Memories - Cats Dentist - Little Shop of Horrors You Got Trouble - Music Man Til There Was You - Music Man I Could Have Danced All Night - My Fair Lady I Feel Pretty - West Side Story Tonight - West Side Story America ? West Side Story Sunrise, Sunset - Fiddler on the Roof Gonna Wash That Man Right Out Of My Hair - South Pacific Master of the House - Les Miserables Don't Cry for me Aregentina - Evita Entire Sound of Music Soundtrack I know I am forgetting some...I could go on and on. I love musicals - my husband hates them. He says they are unrealistic - people do not break out in song in day to day life. I tell him the movies he watches are unrealistic - Adam Sandler would not be pulling in the quality of tail he does in real life like he does in the movies.
  21. You know, Muzik, you can search for meaning your entire lifetime across all the lands of the earth, but the mystery of existence leads you to the one true thing...Erik Estrada.
  22. Sweet Gilliann, you might be a tad too young for the D experience, but they are wonderful! They will rock your freaking socks off!
  23. Oh, Marc, those are priceless! Who wouldn't want a big bucket of f**k?
  24. Ms. Opie, I would like to know exactly what is wrong with John Cusack walking around in the rain? Because it looks pretty damned good from my point of view. BTW, stop giving me Johnny and then taking him away. I feel like one of Pavlov's dogs!
