Rayzor
Yes are a very cool band! I am just one of the many Yes fans here on SF... so don't worry Jim! You're not the only Yes fan!
edna
We have Yes fans and we also have bananas, as you can see... I was a Yes fan when they started. I loved "Fragile", "Close to the Edge" and "Tales from Topographic Oceans". Me and my friends would have them as a soundtrack for our teenage lives. I still have those albums... "Mood For A Day" is a piece of art.
Jim in Pa
Glad to see there are Yes fans around.....I cruzed around the forum and didnt see anything, so I thought I'd ask.. I never missed a show when they played Philadelphia. Edna, Mood for day may be a piece of art, but "The Clap" is a hell of alot harder to play......lol Jim
c_s_1987
Yessongs is my favourite live album. It's an excellent collection of the best songs from possibly their three best albums. I'm trying to learn Mood For A Day, and I'm looking forward to trying it out on an electric guitar when I get one. Maybe I should stop though, it seems too hard for my rather low standard of guitar playing.
edna
Oh, I had "Yessongs" too... was that the triple abum or was it "TFTO"?
c_s_1987
Yessongs is on 2CDs, but it may have been three LPs. I'm not sure.

edna
And the album covers were amazing... was it Roger Dean? I admitt we were stoned quite often by then but the music and he covers were very trippy...
Jim in Pa
Edna, the album covers are fantasic, I have several large poster copies at home... , And they were done by Rodger Dean..... I found a really obscure video of Steve Howe (in Japan) playing the "Clap" backwards. I'm trying to find it again. If and when I do I will post the link..... Jim in Pa
I have a hard enough time playing The "Clap" forward.. This is insane, I cant even bring myself to try it.. Apparently Steve got bored, and decided to try and confuse people. (Great job)... btw/ this is obviously a pirate vid, so the quality aint so good, but sound is good enough to get the idea.... Foolonthehill
I like Yes a lot... still have to check out Tales From Topographic Oceans though... fans seem to be split on opinion on that one.
Foolonthehill
I looked at learning to play Clap once...its crazy to say the least.
edna
Apparently Steve got bored, and decided to try and confuse people. Jim I was reading the comments in Spanish, they all agree, it´s not "The Clap"...
Jim in Pa
Edna, your right, its not the Clap in reverse note for note.. But if you are able to play the song on guitar, It becomes apparent (at least to me) that alot of those riffs (as played by Steve in that vid) when reversed, mimic alot of the riffs in "The Clap" Jim Edited September 26, 2007 by Guest
