_Laurie_ Posted August 18, 2007 Report Posted August 18, 2007 Davey Jones was on our local radio station a few months ago....he sounded very rude and arrogant, very nasty to the DJ that was interviewing him also...Which I'm sure alot of entertainers, musicians are like that, but I just would of never expected that from him....I like some of their songs, but remember them mostly as a tv show...so I voted no.....
edna Posted August 18, 2007 Report Posted August 18, 2007 I'm sure alot of entertainers, musicians are like that..... No. I´ve met many musicians who were not still very famous, others who had many albums and tours behind them and even very famous rock stars. Being rude or not has nothing to do with being famous...
_Laurie_ Posted August 18, 2007 Report Posted August 18, 2007 That's right Edna...keyword here "musicians"
Batman Posted August 18, 2007 Report Posted August 18, 2007 The Monkees are a complete joke, much like the Hall of Fame. They definitely belong there.
blind-fitter Posted August 21, 2007 Report Posted August 21, 2007 The Monkees? Whatever next; New Kids On The Block?
Frank O The MountaiN Posted August 21, 2007 Report Posted August 21, 2007 Well everyone has bad days now don't they? Maybe the radio guy was a D bag, I don't know...I wasn't there. The Monkees are quite good all in all. Listen to the song GOODBYE, it's the most 60s sounding song there is pretty much. I think they are swell, and I have no problem throwin' them in. Neil Sedaka?......we have a problem. ROCK AND ROLL
Frank O The MountaiN Posted August 21, 2007 Report Posted August 21, 2007 Oops, name of the song is THE PORPOISE SONG. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StNXo5db5NA

DianneM Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 (edited) Are you kidding! Neil Sedaia was one of the best! Edited August 24, 2007 by Guest
Super Ry 71 Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 I voted yes as well. Batman, you pretty much summed up my feelings.
OLD 55 Posted August 25, 2007 Report Posted August 25, 2007 I just happen to have a couple of Neil Sedaka songs on my Lista.
_Laurie_ Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 While surfing the net, I came across this site...about Groups that should be in The R&R Hall Of Fame. BADFINGER! is on that list among many others that should be also... Link
Steel2Velvet Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 Thanks for sharing, Lucky. Interesting take on the process. His arguments were very well articulated, if rather scattershot and one-sided. I did note that after all his ranting about the illegitimacy of the Hall voters and their antiquated decisions, he wanted his own band inducted. LOL Folks is folks.
Super Ry 71 Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 Genesis isn't in the HoF?!? Jeez, there ARE messed up!
Batman Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 Rock is supposed to be about rebellion. So why would any rock fan give a s*** about what some institution wants us to believe the most important rock groups are?
Kevin Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 Where did you get that idea ? Did someone TELL you that ?!
Batman Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 I'm not sure, was it said earlier in this thread? It probably was, because this site is known for it's large amount of rock fans
