Lucky Posted August 20, 2007 Report Posted August 20, 2007 After a lengthy perusal of the list, I see that we have no Bob Seger! How can that be, says me? To correct that, here is what is surely a renomination, and one of the best 'Live' albums ever released! BOB SEGER & THE SILVER BULLET BAND 'LIVE' BULLET 1. Nutbush City Limits 2. Travelin' Man 3. Beautiful Loser 4. Jody Girl 5. I've Been Working 6. Turn the Page 7. U.M.C. (Upper Middle Class) 8. Bo Diddley 9. Ramblin' Gamblin' Man 10. Heavy Music 11. Katmandu 12. Lookin' Back 13. Get Out of Denver 14. Let It Rock
Elvish Posted August 20, 2007 Author Report Posted August 20, 2007 (edited) Thanks a ton for your help, Lucky lady ETA: thanks for the awesome suggestion as well! Edited August 20, 2007 by Guest
Lucky Posted August 20, 2007 Report Posted August 20, 2007 No problem. Can't have our newest Elvy-Tot sobbing her little eyes out 'cause Mama has to worry about what music our Songfactor friends are listening to!
Rayzor Posted August 21, 2007 Report Posted August 21, 2007 Great nom Lucky!! I love Seger and his live stuff is great!
Lucky Posted August 23, 2007 Report Posted August 23, 2007 Ray, you crack me up. How will you ever vote? You've given that same response (or a similar variation) 5 separate times in this thread!! We're going to put the polls up soon kids. Just so you all know, I've asked Martin to also give me hand. First of all this techno-challenged girl doesn't have a clue about polls. Second, when it comes down to that 'moderator discretion' thing (in case of a tie, etc) .... he's going to help me make sure a great album is chosen. The whole young/old thing. Sound fair? The poll will be up soon....
Lucky Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 Remember to vote for two albums in each poll. Sorry I have to make two poll-posts!
Rayzor Posted August 25, 2007 Report Posted August 25, 2007 You're right Lucky! I had a heck of a time deciding my votes! It came down to pulling names from a hat in that 2nd poll! These albums are way too cool, I almost didn't want to choose one over another
_Laurie_ Posted August 26, 2007 Report Posted August 26, 2007 Looks like our guitarists are doing well in this one... :guitar:
Lucky Posted August 30, 2007 Report Posted August 30, 2007 She's right! Results of the MOC List 40 Challenge: Cream of Clapton ~ Eric Clapton Are You Experienced ~ Jimi Hendrix Music From The Motion Picture: Pulp Fiction ~ Various Artists Parallel Lines ~ Blondie A Northern Soul ~ The Verve With the help of my lovely assistant Martin, we decided we had to go with the 2 top dogs. We thought the rest just sort of rounded out nicely.
Levis Posted August 30, 2007 Report Posted August 30, 2007 Hah!! Now why on earth am I grinning so much? ( )
edna Posted August 30, 2007 Report Posted August 30, 2007 It´s not fair, Bob Seger had more votes than... *ahem*... others...
Farin Posted August 30, 2007 Report Posted August 30, 2007 ETA: BTW, the polls are mostly for fun and originally designed to pick the top selection only. So we don't necessarily have to pick the top five vote-getters.
edna Posted August 30, 2007 Report Posted August 30, 2007 I see... I´ll keep nominating Transformer till it´s selected...
Super Ry 71 Posted August 30, 2007 Report Posted August 30, 2007 Oh I see. Once your God makes the top ten there's no room for the little guy, huh? [smallest]^If you get that reference, I love you.[/smallest]
Lucky Posted August 30, 2007 Report Posted August 30, 2007 Just so you all get an idea of how the decision process went on this List. The votes are really just a guide. From the overwhelming response to Clapton and Hendrix, we decided we'd go with "The Guitarists". The other 3 albums were chosen not by votes, but for diversity. Pulp Fiction, because it is a soundtrack, and a great one, by most opinions, The Verve for the lovers of newer artists, and Blondie, to provide representation for the 80's...well, just because. Anyway, we felt the end result was a nice well rounded list. I'll have the new List 41 open soon!
Lucky Posted August 31, 2007 Report Posted August 31, 2007 Thanks Laurie! If there are questions as to how and why the list is handled the way it is, check out Elvy's post in 'What is Music of Choice'. She explains it very nicely!
Elvish Posted September 3, 2007 Author Report Posted September 3, 2007 Very nice, Lucky (and Martin). Y'all are a new mama's dream come true. Do you do dishes and laundry as well? I'm off to renominate the Dead
_Laurie_ Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 The Dead will get my vote!....excellent idea Elvy!
