Uncle Joe Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 Oh sure! Now they're using devices. Sheesh!

_Laurie_ Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 In the 1970's, Harry's brother, Tom Chapin (also a member of Harry's band), used to host a music show on PBS which was aimed at small children. I can't remember the name of the show, but I can remember some of the weirdest songs ever written. If anyone remembers the name of this show, please tell me. Two of the songs I remember were "Aken's Drum" and "Tingelayo (come, little donkey, come)". This dude must've been heavy into the psychedelics back in the 70's, man. He played guitar and, I believe, some dulcimer and mandolin. :guitar: :: :: Sammy was the name of tom chapins show "Make A Wish"
miamisammy29 Posted July 13, 2005 Author Report Posted July 13, 2005 Sammy was the name of tom chapins show "Make A Wish" That could be it. It sounds familiar. But I can't say for sure. And now that I think about it, the dude who sang the weird songs I mentioned above might have been another weird dude on another weird kids' show. It WAS a long time ago. :: ::
OLD 55 Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 Where´s 55? Hope your wife is fine... Thanks Edna and all who knew of my Wife's health problems. The results of the biopsy just came through today and all is O.K. , thank God. It's "fibrous tissue" left from an infection. The ladies will know what I'm talking about. I've got to catch up on my stamp busineess stocktake (which I've been putting off). That should only take me a day or so, and we've got things to do tomorrow too. Give me a couple of days and I'll update the Points (been putting that off too) and most likely continue the Quiz on a New Thread as jr suggested. Best Wishes All.
edna Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 Well, that´s really good news, OldFif! So congrats to all the family and be back soon!!

OLD 55 Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 Thanks to all my good friends, including Joe who sent me a very nice Email. I didn't want to have to start looking for another (almost) 36 year old Wife. No, Val is my one and only. ........................................................... Here's a NEW QUESTION. I think it's pretty tough, so I'm going to make it worth 10 Points. Songs (all Hits) by these 3 Groups/Artist have something in common that will give you clues to the title of a Big Hit by PAULA ABDUL: BEATLES MONKEES PAT BENATAR What are the FOUR songs? ::
miamisammy29 Posted July 15, 2005 Author Report Posted July 15, 2005 I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but here goes: "Strawberry Fields Forever" "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" "Hold On Girl" (or just plain "Girl") "Forever Your Girl" :: ::

Tenacious_Peaches Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 LAURIE! I WAS JUST ABOUT TO POST THAT! YOU WERE ONE MINUTE FASTER THAN ME! AAAARGGGGHHHH! Oh, and congrats.
_Laurie_ Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 Your's is very clever too!....I say we split the points!
miamisammy29 Posted July 15, 2005 Author Report Posted July 15, 2005 Your's is very clever too!....I say we split the points! No way. Mine might be clever, but yours is RIGHT! The points are all yours. If the Man wants to give me two points for "creativity", then I would gladly take them, but that's it.
_Laurie_ Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 we'll find out soon...i still like your's sammy
OLD 55 Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 Paula Abdul...Opposites Attract hello, goodbye..beatles little bit me, little bit you...monkees fire and ice...benatar TOO GOOD LAURIE! CONGRATULATIONS! AND I made it a 10 Point Question because I didn't think anyone would get it ! Peaches knew it too. And what a clever answer from Sammy - I'm not smart enough to have thought that one up. Seeing it was a Double Point Question I'll double the Participation Points, but Laurie gets the 10. I'll see if I can find a Quizpic, then we're headed out for a few hours.
OLD 55 Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 Who's this face from the 70s ? (Different book this time) - hope I haven't used him before.
