Brad_M
I thought of the Bee Gees at first, but they only had two #1 singles in the UK in the '70s. I'm not sure about 10cc, either. They had three UK #1 singles in the '70s but I'm not sure what members of the band sang lead vocals for each song. Also, I don't know if Zab means each single was sang by a different member of the band or if he means a band that went through three different lead singers during the '70s. I don't know of any that did. Waiting on you, Zab, to say if any of these previous answers are correct before guessing some more.
edna
I don't remember the site but I found a place where you had all the #1s and it said "3rd #1" after one of their 70s hits, so it might have been the BeeGees... Oh, here: http://www.onlineweb.com/theones/1975_1979.htm 29 Apr 1978...Bee Gees... Night Fever 2 (weeks) "3rd No 1" They wrote the soundtrack to "Saturday Night Fever", and relaunched their careers as kings of disco. Brad_M
Yes, Edna, "Jive Talkin'" was their 3rd #1 in the UK, but not in the '70s. Bee Gees have had a total of five #1's in the UK. Two in the '60s, two in the '70s, and one in the '80s. Here's the breakdown: #1 Sep. 1967 "Massachusetts" #1 Aug. 1968 "I've Gotta Get A Message To You" #1 Apr. 1978 "Night Fever" #1 Feb. 1979 "Tragedy" #1 Sep. 1987 "You Win Again" Zabba-Dabba-Doo, where are you???
