The Songfactor's Choice Top 10 #48

Woohoo! Some punk rock at No. 1!!!

Could one of you statisticy types confirm whether I once nominated London Calling before, and it failed to make the grade? Or am I hallucinating again? (Come to think of it, maybe it was "Rock The Casbah" I nominated...)

London Calling was #16 in Top Ten #7 (April last year), but you didn't nominate it - it was phil :)

Rock the Casbah was nominated twice, in our very first Top Ten - by Kevin,

and it got into the Top Ten in #19 (nominated by yours truly )

I was a bit surprised that Just Like Me didn't gather any votes other than my own.

Drake Levin's guitar on this (sure, it's multi-tracked) is just such a standout.

I know Paul Revere & The Raiders seemed like Dick Clark's dependants, and their later work may have branded them "bubblegum" ( Purportedly, lead singer Mark Lindsay preferred a harder sound, but Revere was pop-bound).

Although it was a hit, I think the anti-drug song Kicks ran counter to the Rock milieu at the time of its release.

And performing Indian Reservation in their Revolutionary War getup was a strange mixed metaphor to me.

My reaction to A Punk Song at #1 !!!

Could've been worse; could have been ©Rap.

Believe it or not it just missed out on my Ten. * I like it. :)

* I think a few people missed that part before.
