The Songfactors' Choice Top #36

Some good renominations this time. It will be interesting to see how they will place. Here’s the list and how high the songs placed in a previous list. Billy Joel’s, The Cult's and the Faces’ songs have been nominated twice before. Usually a song will be placed higher the second time around, so Billy Joel will most likely get into the top ten this time.

Bette Davis Eyes - Kim Carnes / 37

Don't you forget about me - Simple Minds / 24

Leather and Lace - Stevie Nicks and Don Henley / 24

Locomotive Breath - Jethro Tull / 29

Only The Good Die Young - Billy Joel / 24 11

Paper Sun - Traffic / 35

She Sells Sanctuary - The Cult / 42 31

Smells like Teen Spirit - Nirvana / 19

Stay With Me - Faces f. Rod Stewart / 35 29

Way, The - Fastball / 46

Wicked Game - Chris Isaak / 19

It's great to see prefabricated boy-bands finally getting the respect they deserve.

October Winner, Quote of the Month.

:drummer:

Nothing like a 'Purely Pop' Song at #1.

As someone else said here, thanks also to Neil Diamond for writing it. We don't seem to be able to place him in the Top Ten, which is surprising to me.

3. Music, Music, Music - Leena Zaveroni

4. I'm A Believer - The Monkees

5. Bad Moon Rising - Creedence Clearwater Revival

7. Voulez-vous - ABBA Because - The Beatles

8. I'll Never Fall In Love Again - Dionne Warwick

9. Let's Spend the Night Together - The Rolling Stones

10. Because - The Beatles

My apologies in being so careless in editing my own work.

We have also "Bad Moon Rising" in the Halloween Top Ten. :) I like this list, as usual. I´m surprised some of you gave points to Lou Christie, I thought I was the only one who´d do it...

Edna, I must confess I never heard of Lou Christie before TT No.36. I could not watch the video (streaming is banned here) but from 30 second samplings I heard on cduniverse.com I think I like the artist a lot and gave him my vote too.

PS: I was disappointed after hearing Because - not a very Beatle song IMO, but many thanks for sending it my way. Appreciated.

He (Lou Christi) was great edna. I think he did a better falsetto than Franki Valli.

NOBODY does a better falsetto than Frankie Valli. Well, maybe Elton John in the 70's or Roy Orbison. 'Best male falsetto' might make an interesting discussion thread or even specialty top ten, if it hasn't been done before.

sorry Ron, we use a Tiebreaker system here... :)

In case two (or more) songs have the same points, we'll sort them by the number of people who voted for them (in this case 10 for both), if this number is still equal (like here), then we'll sort by the highest votes.

"Walk this way" got two times a 10, "Everybody hurts" got two times 7 points as highest

and so "Walk this Way" gets the sole #10...

:headphones:

but besides that I would have liked to see more 90's songs in the Top Ten too... :P

Thank You :)

No, thank YOU Farin for the great job you do !

I hope others besides Ron have taken a moment to check it out.

You could hear a pin drop around here. No one from the U.S. has made any posts in this Thread for two days. North Korea didn't nuke 'em while I was asleep, did they ? Surely it would have been on the News !

:P
