Earth-Angel Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 Absolutely amazingly cool fantastic band If you haven't heard of them by now - where have you been for the last 7 years? Their superhit tracks span across Showbiz, Absolution, Origin of Symmetry and most recently Black Holes & Revelations. How do describe their sound, well it's like taking a blend of all your favourite rock bands into one brilliant trio. Yes, 3 people create this awesomeness - Matthew Bellamy, Dominic Howard and Chris Wolstenhome. Really, worth a listen if you like Radiohead, Soundgarden and perhaps even Led Zeppelin! Yes, these guys are that good! Their latest single, Supermassive Black Hole is punchy and cocky - you need to crank the volume right up for this one! “Matt Bellamy has put together a collection of simple, poetic, transparent songs that re-engage with the old words and values; honour, courage and righteousness. It’s one long love letter to the Impossible Dream, and it WILL NOT SURRENDER. There’s been no record released yet this century with stakes so high. Musically, it could have been a disaster. But one man’s prog is another man’s progress, and every guitar here sounds like it’s from the future, every flourish and movement scored and orchestrated with the celestial vision. By indulging every pomp rock wet dream he’s ever had, Matt’s found that there’s no such thing as too much distortion, and that, when you care this much, chartbusting tunes really do fall from the sky…..On earth, Muse have made the UK Rock record of the year, but as it is in heaven, they’ve created a scripture; the defining document of a new religion no more complicated than Bellamy’s crystal clear lyrics.†(NME) Showbiz 1. blind-fitter Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 Yes...it's a shame Matt Bellamy's such a complete arse.
Farin Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 (edited) Very good stuff And I loved them since "Muscle Museum" But I always thought this thread is about unknown bands... Edited June 7, 2006 by Guest I added one single letter, but I don't tell you which one...
blind-fitter Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 Edited by FarinU on 06-07-06 04:08 PM. Reason for edit: I added one single letter, but I don't tell you which one... Oooh, you're such a tease.
Earth-Angel Posted June 7, 2006 Author Report Posted June 7, 2006 True - but how globally well known are Muse? It would be strange to see someone posting about Led Zepplin, or The Beatles though. We could then start deleting a lot of threads here like Franz Ferdinand, Gnarls Barkley, Jeff Buckley, Better than Ezra, Skunk Anansie etc. Known to some, not to all, remember I can move it to Music Discussion instead to avoid any confusion.
Farin Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 Oooh, you're such a tease. Oh well, okay, if you must know... it was a "u"

I think right here in the quiet backwater of "Get The Word Out" is just fine. Edited June 7, 2006 by Guest To alleviate confusion caused by FarinU's intervening post

No, I was just teasing (notice the ' ') I know, of course, that Muse isn't as known as they probably deserve to be....
SoulGirl Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 there shall no more talk of deleting anything to do with the beautiful jeff, thank you! *humph*
Red Fish Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 I've heard a couple of their songs I think (Stockholm Syndrome and Hysteria at the very least). Crazy, trippy stuff. Cool.
Jenny Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 The myspace page was taking a long time to load, so I found the song another way and gave it a listen. I liked it. Thanks Earth-angel, I will try to check out more stuff by them.
Farin Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 I posted the video of "Muscle Museum" in "Random Music Videos...Do You Know This Song?"
Jenny Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 I know..I watched it and then I used youtube to find the video for their new song so I could listen. That's about as internet savvy as I get!
Batman Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 I was never a fan of their earlier stuff, but I've recently heard Black Holes & Revelations, and it's awesome!
nobody_home Posted July 14, 2006 Report Posted July 14, 2006 I went to buy it yesterday, but where I'm living now there's not a record/CD store within an hour drive. I'm looking forward to getting it this weekend, though.
