Tenacious_Peaches Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 How did you come up with your screen name? Some are pretty obvious, but some are a little hard to decipher. I'll start. I love Tenacious D (the greatest band on earth!) and I live in Georgia. Hence, Tenacious Peaches. Anyone else? And if your sn is your name, please don't be obnoxious and write "My mother gave it to me" or something equally sarcastic. I'm just trying to get to know everyone!
Mike Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 I am named after the greatest rock band ever who was named after Pink Anderson and Floyd Council. And for the year the greatest album ever recorded (The Dark Side Of The Moon) was released and it's also a pun on names /numbers you always see in screen names for example Ken6844 so there you have it... It's just the Syd Barrett in me! That's right!! Brain Damage my friends!!! ::
_Jayson_ Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 Well of course its pretty obvious my name is Jayson. For 9903, I got my former favorite radio station, 99x, and added my favorite number. Very creative huh?
Tenacious_Peaches Posted May 7, 2004 Author Report Posted May 7, 2004 Jayson, I don't live anywhere near Atlanta, but when I am in town, I listen to 99x. Why is it your former favorite station?
_Jayson_ Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 Because I started listening to 96Rock! But i still listen to 99x too.
Tenacious_Peaches Posted May 7, 2004 Author Report Posted May 7, 2004 Jayson, Rock on, man! Woo hoo! (I hope that sounds rock-ish and not TRL-ish!)
Costellogirl75 Posted May 8, 2004 Report Posted May 8, 2004 um mine is pretty dang obivious 1. I love Elvis Costello 2. I am a girl 3. I was born in 1975 I wish I could have thought of something more obscure, but, my love for Mr. Costello must be expressed.
Crazy Don Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 My name is Don and I'm crazy. I wanted to be like Weird Al Yankovic and do song parodies, and my name was Crazy Don. So there.
TheCyberdemon Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 My name came from the classic first person shooter, DOOM. If anyone played that, you'd remember the cyberdemon was the big horned monster with the rocket launcher. 26 is my hockey, and favorite number.
katie_sane Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 My first name is Katie and I chose the name 'Jagger' after one of my idols, Sir Mick of The Rolling Stones.
Denmark Street Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 Denmark Street is a road in central London which is famous for its music publishers, instrument shops and recording studios...kind of an English Tin Pan Alley.
MuzikTyme Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 MuzikTyme has a bit more meaning than I'm sure all of you have thought. Muzik isn't actually a word in a dictionary but basically it is my conception of what most music today has become. Something that is recorded solely for profit. Tyme is an acronym. It stands for: take your money everywhere Instead of explaining further what Muzik and Tyme together actually means, I'll leave it now to you readers to decipher. MuzikTyme means anything but music time. So, remaining true to my character, my name, as well as my words, are mostly misunderstood by the majority.
TheCyberdemon Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 That explains alot Muzik. Here I thought you were going along with the "L33t Talk" or spelling things inappropriate because you think it looks cool. Editors note: I was originally going to call you an idiot, but I like ya too much.
MuzikTyme Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 Good looking out funnymonkey but I doubt your services will be needed against anyone who likes idiots too much. :: I was originally going to call you an idiot, but I like ya too much. Oh, Sara or Carl, is there any way to extend the time for post editing, possibly from six hours to 24 hours? I spelt solely wrong in the above post and it's driving me crazy. I think typos should have a minimum of 24 hours to correct. Thoughts anyone?
TheCyberdemon Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 It's true, I like Muzik so I didn't call him an idiot, get it monkey? I also agree that spelling errors shouldn't be corrected after 24 hours, hell I'd give it 2. If i mispell something I just leave it.
Catherine Posted June 3, 2004 Report Posted June 3, 2004 I think my name is pretty damned obvious! :: Seems kind of bland. MuzikTyme...I agree about the time allotted to fix posts.
Sara Posted June 3, 2004 Report Posted June 3, 2004 I'm inclined to leave the edit time as is but I will consult with Carl and let you guys know what we decide.
DiggsUK Posted June 3, 2004 Report Posted June 3, 2004 Hi, DiggsUK isn't very imaginative I know, but when I was a kid I was in a kids gang we called the Diggs (can't remember why now, something to do with a character from an old black & white gangster film I think). Nice to meet you all. Regards
bluesboy Posted June 3, 2004 Report Posted June 3, 2004 My screen name obviously comes from BB(blues boy)King, one of the greats of the modern blues era (especially his '50s tracks)... I just love '50s and 60's blues and R&B... :guitar: Edit time... why not expand it to 10 or 12 hours (for a trial period, say 10 days) and see how it goes...
Jillianne Posted June 15, 2004 Report Posted June 15, 2004 um well its my name, but its really supposed to be spelt Jillianne but i dont like that xxx
Tenacious_Peaches Posted June 15, 2004 Author Report Posted June 15, 2004 Jillianne is very pretty. ::
Sara Posted June 24, 2004 Report Posted June 24, 2004 I didn't intend to leave you all hanging on the edit time question. I decided to leave it as is for the time being.
MuzikTyme Posted June 24, 2004 Report Posted June 24, 2004 I noticed. BTW, I like the J better. The G gives more a masculine hint, like Gilligan. Don't you think, li'l buddy?
MuzikTyme Posted June 24, 2004 Report Posted June 24, 2004 If i mispell something I just leave it. You say that as if you think it's cool not to correct an error while creating another. Many people have your mentality, forever. Hope you'll not fall into that category, forever. It's up to you, as you've already proved. You don't have to care about yourself but it'd be nice if you cared about others. Again, you've already proved you don't. Your point has been made. What is left? You don't have any idea.
