Brad_M Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 It says MC_Kenne was born on 10/09/2010...and all this time I thought he was born yesterday.
Carl Posted November 27, 2010 Author Report Posted November 27, 2010 We used have our birthdate only in our user profile with only our age over in the avatar section. Can we still do that ? Have a look now Blues - is that what you mean?
bluesboy Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 No, your age used to be visible (avatar section) but your actual birthdate was visible Only in your control panel profile. Thanks for your time Carl and crew.
skybluesky Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 And the smiles should now appear correctly.. it was a setting that had to be adjusted.. But they still aren't working.
Lucky Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 (edited) I'm finding that some posts have gone missing. Edit: nevermind they are back. I don't know what happened, but I logged out & back in and voila. Edited November 28, 2010 by Guest Too many of edna's brownie's?
Shawna Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 There is a link under the avatar (on my screen) that shows "user options" and a couple of other things. It stretches into the posts. Anyone else see this? When I click on it, nothing happens. But it's annoying.
couchtomatoe Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 But they still aren't working. Please check again Sky

Lucky Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 It works for me. Gives you the option of finding the user's topics and/or other posts. It doesn't cause anything to extend, or stretch, in fact I was going to note the left sidebar seems wider now.
Shawna Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 Firefox. It's neater now, the subjects are stacked one under the other. But the links still don't work. They give me an error now. I don't know about javascript.
Shawna Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 I've also noticed that when I used to click on the subject name in a forum, it would take me immediately to the last topic posted after I'd been there last. Now it takes me to what appears to be the very end of the forum regardless of new posts, and sometimes it takes me to a blank page where there are no posts at all, and I have to click on the last page number to get to the new posts. Weird.
edna Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 I use Firefox too but I see no links under the avatar...
Carl Posted November 28, 2010 Author Report Posted November 28, 2010 It looks like the User Options bar is only set for Mods right now. This is a new feature that looks pretty handy - gives you the options to find the user's posts, PT the user, etc. I'll ask Couch about this. Blues, birthdays should only be in the profiles now. Does it look OK?
bluesboy Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 I guess maybe we don't have the capability now but I just wanted the birthdays and age to remain the same as before the upgrade. Before the update we had the opportunity to put our age in our avatar section, but our birthdate was strictly in our public profile section. That's all and Thanks Carl.

Blues, do you mean that you could have your age in your public profile, but decide if it will display under your avatar or not? I'll check on the cake Edna. That piece of digital pastry is a wonderful thing.
bluesboy Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 Blues, do you mean that you could have your age in your public profile, but decide if it will display under your avatar or not? All I'm saying is when you go into your Control Panel and into your public profile you could fill out the birthday section and have your age appear under your avatar. After this upgrade if you did that... your age and your birthday is appearing under your avatar. I feel the birthday should just be visible(if you want) back in the control panel.
MuzikTyme Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 Chaos and disorder are things that come natural to me, Carl. I've never noticed any glitch concerning Songfacts' performance, and if I did, I would simply pinch myself and realize it was just a temporary nightmare.
Lucky Posted November 30, 2010 Report Posted November 30, 2010 Just fyi ... I don't know if this is related to the upgrade, or if it's just wonky boards, or if it even matters. Prior to logging into the site just now the big bad red *database error* banner was up top. Once I logged in everything appears fine.
Shawna Posted November 30, 2010 Report Posted November 30, 2010 It's a little disconcerting to see my birthday (month/day/year) up front for all to see. Somehow, it's better just to see my old age. So I took it off public view entirely. Which probably means I won't get a virtual cake this year.
Lucky Posted November 30, 2010 Report Posted November 30, 2010 I agree too Shawna, seeing my actual birthdate staring at me is a little weird. Carl, see if this helps explain it ... Currently, if your birthdate is listed in your public profile, your public display (beneath your avatar) is this: Birthday: xx/xx/xx (this is the problem) Age: xx Location: Registration Date: xx-xx-xx Prior to the upgrade if your birthdate was listed in your public profile your public display was only this: Age: xx Location: Registration Date: xx-xx-xx
