Nice, but the actual title was Reach Out In The Darkness.

I know Joe, I thought so too, and I've looked all over the net (wish I had a book! :D ) but although the lyrics are clearly reach out in the darkness, the title is consistently listed as 'of'. We'll happily change it, but find me a source. It's kind of weird actually.

Bluesy is correct.

The song is titled, "Reach Out Of The Darkness".

It's a classic case of assuming a song is titled something because of what you hear in the lyrics. It happens a lot.

The 45 single had the word "Of" and so did the follow-up album:

Joel Whitburn's, "The Billboard Book Of Top 40 Hits", 9th Edition, pg. 256, also shows the title as "Reach Out Of The Darkness".
