chutzpah Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 that was a pretty good list...lots of good songs on there...
Batman Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 I've probably said it before, but I don't understand why they update this list every year
MindCrime Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 I guess 15 years (1994) is the cutoff date.
RonJonSurfer Posted December 1, 2009 Author Report Posted December 1, 2009 I've probably said it before, but I don't understand why they update this list every year Because they are a radio station trying to engage their ever-changing listener base. About one month in advance, they solicit people to go online and nominate their favorite songs. The list gets played on the station starting Wednesday through Sunday night. It's a marketing promotion that drives people to the stations Web site and gets people listening to classic rock songs.

miamisammy29 Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 881 AC/DC - Rock 'N Roll Train ... 2008
miamisammy29 Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 Eh, I've always considered Classic Rock a STYLE, not an age. And, yes, AC/DC does play that style, as do some semi-newer bands such as Goo Goo Dolls or Matchbox 20. I'd even put Pearl Jam and a couple others into this category. Contrary to my point: Early Bee Gees would definitely be considered rock, but one would never hear it on a "Classic Rock" station. Hmmm. As Mr. William Joel would say, "It's still rock n' roll to me".
Farin Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 that's alright, I just have a different opinion about it
RonJonSurfer Posted December 2, 2009 Author Report Posted December 2, 2009 Good points Sammy. The reason I loved WABC-AM (New York) when I was a kid was because they played everything...Motown, Psychedelic, Bubblegum, Pop. My parents didn't have FM radio in the car, so I listened to ABC for hours and hours. Of course, when WNEW-FM came on the scene, they played all them freaky albums from Cream, Hendrix, Pink Floyd, and much more obscure rock than that...things changed. check out ABC's Power list from this week in 1969 http://www.musicradio77.com/Surveys/1969/surveydec269.html And this Web site dedicate to the station http://www.musicradio77.com/ check this wiki for the history of WNEW-FM http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WWFS
