pinkstones
Hey, wait until you see my 50. I think people will like the mix I have. 48 songs from one artist each and then 2 from the same artist.

pinkstones
Don't give everything away already, we like surprises Part of why I re-did my list was to remove the element of surprise. I wanted to show that my tastes were more diversified than people think. And the double-entry artist is not who you're expecting. So there. ;-P
The Seeker
Guess I'll find out soon enough! And now let's not draw attention away too much from Blue Angel's thread

pinkstones
Just teasing, no apologies necessary. You got me curious about your list though, I'm looking forward to it. So am I....I can't wait for Farin to tell me I can submit it. I'm really hoping that everyone finds something they like, no matter what era of music they prefer. That's what I was really going for. Lucky
Good, I look forward to it! Fyi, Farin may be running things for her right now (busy girl), but it's Levi's that is the Keeper of the Specials. And we owe her many thanks, and many of these ... There is more work here than most people realize. Now back to BlueAngel's ten. With all the listening I have to do it may be the weekend before I get my votes in. Not to cut Farin out, we owe him many too. Edited August 27, 2009 by Guest thank you everybody !! :)

BlueAngel
Its fine by me, though probably not for vote calculation purposes. (Good to see Nick Cave and Dinosaur Jr. on any list though.)

Farin
okay, this was getting too hard for me, so I decided on doing something a bit selfish: since everybody already knows that I love certain tracks (The Verve, New Order, QotSA, Gorillaz, Moby, R.E.M., etc), and that I repeatedly voted them very high on my lists, I decided to not vote for them now, in order to not have to ignore the other great nominations (again)... 1. "Popscene" - Blur (1992) .. I actually didn't know that song before BA introduced me to it 2. "Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground" - The White Stripes (2001) (the second song I ever heard of them ) 3. "Army of Me" - Björk (1995) 4. "Dress" - PJ Harvey (1992) 5. "Straight To You" - Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds (1992) 6. "Fool's Gold" - The Stone Roses (1989) 7. "Lady Venom" - Swollen Members (1999) (nice ) 8. "Neighborhood #3 Power Out" - Arcade Fire (2004) 9. "Lost In The Supermarket" - The Clash (1979) 10."12:51" - The Strokes (2003) ...even AFTER I cut off my 'usual suspects' and deciding on Ten, I still have 9 (!) songs left to BlueAngel's nominations
blind-fitter
1) "Dress" - PJ Harvey 2) "Sabotage" - Beastie Boys 3) "Panic" - The Smiths 4) "Transmission" - Joy Division 5) "Ex Lion Tamer" - Wire 6) "Protection" - Massive Attack ft. Tracy Thorn 7) "Army of Me" - Bjork 8) "Live Forever" - Oasis 9) "Go With The Flow" - Queens of the Stone Age 10) "Fool's Gold" - The Stone Roses "Hell Is Around the Corner" - Tricky "Blue Monday" - New Order "Come Together" - Spiritualized "Lost In The Supermarket" - The Clash "Nothing Compares 2 U" - Sinead O'Connor "Redemption Song" - Johnny Cash ft. Joe Strummer "Straight To You" - Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds "The Wagon" - Dinosaur Jr "You Know You're Right" - Nirvana "Ziggy Stardust" - Bauhaus Some of my favourite artists amongst the "didn't quite make it" crew. (Bauhaus and The Clash would normally be a shoo-in; these songs just don't happen to rank among my favourites of theirs, though) It's not often I compliment somebody on their excellent taste, but on this occasion, consider it done. MindCrime
Farin, are you saying you like Moby more than White Stripes and Blur?
Farin
I wouldn't say that in general, it really depends on the songs... if it wouldn't have been these particular songs, but eg, Country House, Conquest and Bodyrock or something, it could have been different if it would be just about the bands, then according to my last.fm library I have listened to Blur 262, The White Stripes 251, and Moby 85 times
