MindCrime Posted January 24, 2009 Report Posted January 24, 2009 The longevity game - A health survey According to the results I should live to be 83.
Farin Posted January 24, 2009 Report Posted January 24, 2009 I got 5 gold stars and should live to 81 btw, wearing the seatbelt is law in Germany...
MindCrime Posted January 24, 2009 Author Report Posted January 24, 2009 Seatbelts are mandatory here as well, for anyone in the front seats or under 5 (?) years of age in the back.
Farin Posted January 24, 2009 Report Posted January 24, 2009 Seatbelts are mandatory here as well, for anyone in the front seats or under 5 (?) years of age in the back. ah yes, I thought that was the case, but that question made me wonder
MindCrime Posted January 24, 2009 Author Report Posted January 24, 2009 should live to 81 Did you put yes to fast food and no to veggies?
MindCrime Posted January 24, 2009 Author Report Posted January 24, 2009 Most of the grocery stores with pharmacies here have machines that test your blood pressure for free as a mandatory installment by the Health Association. If it wasn't for those, I would have no idea what my blood pressure is other than from regular checkup with my physician.
The Seeker Posted January 24, 2009 Report Posted January 24, 2009 My family is very much into measuring everyone's blood pressure.
skybluesky Posted January 24, 2009 Report Posted January 24, 2009 79, but I could get hit by a bus tomorrow
Levis Posted January 24, 2009 Report Posted January 24, 2009 why'm I so old? You European types and your wimpy immune systems, I tell you
Farin Posted January 24, 2009 Report Posted January 24, 2009 it's the healthy indian food vs european fast food thing, I guess
skybluesky Posted January 24, 2009 Report Posted January 24, 2009 I'd 'magine it's Radhi's being tall and thin and drinking lots of tea.
Levis Posted January 24, 2009 Report Posted January 24, 2009 See the only places I have doubts are blood pressure (last I checked, mine was low! That can't be good), seatbelts (not in the backseat unless I'm in law-abiding foreign land), and 5 servings of fruit and veg because I don't think I have five servings of anything in a day - how much is a 'serving' anyway?!
The Seeker Posted January 24, 2009 Report Posted January 24, 2009 I think low is not bad at all... mine's really low too. From what I know it doesn't harm you in any way (unlike high blood pressure) unless it's so low you start falling over, AND you're much less likely to suffer strokes.
Shawna Posted January 24, 2009 Report Posted January 24, 2009 Crikey, I got 5 stars and I shouldn't kick off until I'm 86. Woohoo!
MindCrime Posted January 24, 2009 Author Report Posted January 24, 2009 it's the healthy indian food vs european fast food thing, I guess Maybe because fast food is capable of having Mad Cow Disease which is forbidden in India.
cyberjudge Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 5 stars, 84. A lot of us are going to be around for a while!
edna Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 79, but I could get hit by a bus tomorrow Wise girl...
MuzikTyme Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 Life's a funny thing. I know myself that I think I'm invincible. But, death has a very heavy hand and he/she's not particular. I'll live as long as the twinkling of an eye. Whoops! Back to the point of this very thoughtful thread! How long do I have to live? I much would rather think how long have I to die.
Shawna Posted January 26, 2009 Report Posted January 26, 2009 if you're not busy living, you're busy dying. Or in my view, "I'm too busy living to be bothered with dying."
Foolonthehill Posted January 26, 2009 Report Posted January 26, 2009 I got four stars, live to be 80. I was doing great until the recreational drug use question. It's weird that they are ok with a couple drinks every day, but not a joint 3 or 4 times a year. oh well, I don't really care anyways, I'm more focussed on living than dying.
