The Gutless Wonder Posted November 16, 2008 Report Posted November 16, 2008 Looking forward to the new Manics album which should be particularly interesting as they will be using the lyrics that Richey Edwards left behind. Some people are a bit nervous about it but I have complete faith in them!
Batman Posted December 28, 2008 Author Report Posted December 28, 2008 Animal Collective leaked...it's marvelous!
Foolonthehill Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 ooooh I'll have to check that out
Batman Posted December 31, 2008 Author Report Posted December 31, 2008 half the album sounds like it was written by Mufasa and Rafiki on an LSD trip
Foolonthehill Posted January 1, 2009 Report Posted January 1, 2009 I think I'll wait for the CD release though I never liked downloading
Batman Posted January 1, 2009 Author Report Posted January 1, 2009 Yeah I'm definitely buying it when it comes out. I don't think I'll listen to it again until the CD comes out, because all the reviews of it say that it has really deep bass and drums, and with the leak it was hard to fully appreciate that.
Foolonthehill Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 I think it was legitimately released a couple of days ago, but only on vinyl+download apparently. I'll probably go buy it on the weekend.
Viaene Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 A new collaboration from PJ Harvey and John Parish is set to be released on March 30th, 2009 through Island Records. Entitled "A Woman A Man Walked By", the album was recorded in Bristol and Dorset, and mixed by Flood. "A Woman A Man Walked By" is a follow up to Harvey and Parish's previous collaboration "Dance Hall at Louse Point" (1996).
Viaene Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 Placebo have announced that they will release their as-yet untitled next album in June. The album was produced by David Bottrill and wil be the follow-up to 2006's "Meds". The record will be the first to feature new drummer Steve Forrest. The band have signed with [PIAS], a European entertainment group they will now release their music through. In a statement frontman Brian Molko said, "We were very lucky to have so many great labels interested in signing us, it means a lot, especially after 12 years of releasing records! "But we now feel we have the right partner for Europe in these ever-changing times to continue this crazy adventure and to scale even dizzier heights with our new record."

greendaddy43 Posted February 14, 2009 Report Posted February 14, 2009 Friends and Fans, The Empyrean is my new record and will be released worldwide via Record Collection on January 20th 2009. It was recorded on and off between December 2006 and March 2008. It is a concept record that tells a single story both musically and lyrically. The story takes place within one person, and there are two characters. It contains a version of Tim Buckley's, 'Song To The Siren' and the rest of the songs are written by me. My friend Josh plays on it, as does Flea. It also features Sonus Quartet, Johnny Marr and The New Dimension Singers. I'm really happy with it and I've listened to it a lot for the psychedelic experience it provides. It should be played as loud as possible and it is suited to dark living rooms late at night. - John Frusciante, November 3rd, 2008 The Empyrean The Empyrean Track listing: 1. Before The Beginning 2. Song To The Siren 3. Unreachable 4. God 5. Dark/Light 6. Heaven 7. Enough Of Me 8. Central 9. One More Of Me 10. After The Ending JohnFrusciante.com RecordCollectionmusic.com Before The Beginning is an amazing song without any vocals and Unreachable is one of the best tracks I've heard in a long time.

Batman Posted March 31, 2009 Author Report Posted March 31, 2009 the new Thermals album is a bit of a dissapointment each song is awesome on its own, but none of them have the energy that was found on their earlier albums, and it's really noticeable when listening to the entire thing.
TheLizard Posted March 31, 2009 Report Posted March 31, 2009 The new Decemberists album is flippin' amazing.
