Skuff Posted July 12, 2012 Report Posted July 12, 2012 The Shins - Pressed in a Book On vinyl, nonetheless!
Rayzor Posted July 12, 2012 Report Posted July 12, 2012 Crazy On You - Heart :guitar: It Must Have Been Love - Roxette
Skuff Posted July 13, 2012 Report Posted July 13, 2012 Magic Kids - Superball Perfect summery indie pop. Had it not been for the synthesizers, I would have thought their record came out in the mid 60's, not 2010.
Jenny Posted July 13, 2012 Report Posted July 13, 2012 I'm doing my listening for the TT..."You Got the Silver" by The Rolling Stones.
TheLizard Posted July 14, 2012 Report Posted July 14, 2012 Who's Feeling Young Now? - Punch Brothers This is a band all of you need to know. I've nominated them a few times in the TTs, but they haven't done well.
miamisammy29 Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 "Santa Monica" - Everclear ...and now..."Ain't Too Proud To Beg" - The Stones
miamisammy29 Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 "Down South Jukin'" - Lynyrd Skynyrd ...and now..."Gimme Back My Bullets" - also, Lynyrd Skynyrd
Skuff Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 (edited) Daniel Bukvich's "Symphony No. 1 (In Memoriam Dresden)" performed by the 2012 PMEA Region III Concert Band. It is a very interesting piece; probably the most original I have ever played. It tells the story of the fire bombing of Dresden. During the piece, we had to speak in German and other instruments had to do other effects. The fourth movement ent is the firestorm itself and various instruments had to perform different tasks. The low brass played a dissonant chord to sound like the bombers, while others whistled and screamed as the movement went on. Edited July 17, 2012 by Guest
Farin Posted July 17, 2012 Author Report Posted July 17, 2012 Daniel Bukvich's "Symphony No. 1 (In Memoriam Dresden)" performed by the 2012 PMEA Region III Concert Band. That sounds almost... disturbing, I have to say but I guess that's what it's intended to be.
Skuff Posted July 18, 2012 Report Posted July 18, 2012 Is that this one? That sounds almost... disturbing, I have to say but I guess that's what it's intended to be. YES! When I got my Region Band Folder and I looked at the fourth movement I was intrigued to say the least. It wasn't really notated as music; hard to describe. I was upset that I was beat out for 1st trombone 1st chair...I didn't get the exposed solo at 4:00... I also missed State Band/Wind Ensemble by 3 spots; they take the top 2 and I was 5th. Fingers crossed for this year!
Skuff Posted July 19, 2012 Report Posted July 19, 2012 Ritalin - Life is Good One thing among many that Clone High had going for it was its outstanding music selection. (This song played behind the opening scene of the show.)
Rayzor Posted July 20, 2012 Report Posted July 20, 2012 Rainbow In The Dark - Dio and just switched to: Drops Of Jupiter - Train :guitar:
