Mike Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 Dust in the Wind,†the only U.S. top 10 hit from Kansas, spent the first of two weeks at its number 6 peak, this week in 1978. The music to the song was originally used by writer Kerry Livgren to practice finger picking on the acoustic guitar, while its title was taken from a line in a Native American poem.
Shawna Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 as smart a** little 10th graders, we used to wail, "all we are is a sand particle in the atmospheeeeeeere!"
Udo Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 "in the motion of air caused by differences in atmospheric pressures" would be a little more accurate, methinks.
MuzikTyme Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Anyone that doesn't like the aformentioned song should learn to play it. Sad thing, they never will.
Shawna Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 that comment reminds me of my dad's statement from years ago that to this day still gives me a wry grin: "Incompetent people don't know they're incompetent."
Kevin Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 I hate this song with a passion ! :beady: Overplayed and makes me hit the 'search' function on the radio everytime I hear those opening chords ...
Mike Posted April 17, 2008 Author Report Posted April 17, 2008 that comment reminds me of my dad's statement from years ago that to this day still gives me a wry grin: "Incompetent people don't know they're incompetent." That's why if anyone says to you.."are you stupid?" you should reply, "If I really was, then how would I know?"
Shawna Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 with my brother-in-law it's a bit trickier, because he asks, "Are you some special kinda stupid?" To which I typically reply, "No, just the regular kind."
Mike Posted April 18, 2008 Author Report Posted April 18, 2008 When in doubt... http://www.stupidtester.com/
Viaene Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 the test in incorrect, the number of planets in our solar system is still a point of discussion (many claim pluto isn't a planet)
Farin Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 ^ to my knowledge it's now generally accepted to NOT count Pluto as a planet I'm Einstein btw
Farin Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 I already knew all these trick questions (how much dirt is in that hole? etc)
Shawna Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 Wow. I'm a lot stoopider than I thunk. Maybe I really am a special kind of stoopid.
The Seeker Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 I'm fairly smart too. But I managed to calculate all those things in my head, so I'm really a genius by my standards
Levis Posted April 19, 2008 Report Posted April 19, 2008 I let ONE trick question fool me and got 2% st0opid. Oh well... just slightly less Einstein than Martin
