cyberjudge
That was my favorite movie when it came out. I used to play that album over and over.
OLD 55
Cyber. I don't dislike this Ten really. Strangely enough, I like many R.E.M. songs, but that song didn't get a lot of AM airplay in Australia so I only vaguely know it. I wonder why 'Everybody Hurts' hasn't made it yet ? Another of my favorites of theirs is 'Orange Crush', but it may not be known in the U.S. ? WANTED ALSO: More 80s POP fans. I never could get 'Jessie's Girl' in. TheLizard
I'd vote for "Everybody Hurts", easily. Saved my life. Well, really I'd vote for any REM song, but especially that one. Edited April 5, 2008 by Guest
_Laurie_
I have a few 80's tunes on my "lista".
OLD 55
Hi Tim. I just looked up the Archives. It was first nominated by Steel2Velvet in TT#36, and beaten on a countback for 10th placing ! I didn't vote for it - shame - but there were lots of other great songs nominated then that I liked. RON, how about nominating it again and Tim and I (at least) will vote for it. Lucky
Darryl, early in this ten, when Shannon nominated R.E.M. I mentioned almost nominating a song by them. It was Orange Crush.
TheLizard
"Everybody Hurts" is on my list, I'll get to it eventually if nobody else does first.
OLD 55
Hi Lucky. Well ! That was in the days when I used to sit down with the kids Saturday mornings and watch every video clip from #50 (or was it 40) to #1 on the Australian equivalent of MTV, RAGE. 'Orange Crush' only made it to the Top 20, but it was in there for ages. A song that really grows on you. If you both want to, how about you and Steel (Ron)* organise it to nominate them on different weeks and they might both get in ! I'll certainly vote for both. * Or Tim. Our posts crossed. skybluesky
I'd vote for "Everybody Hurts", easily. Saved my life. The R.E.M. that saved my life is Losing My Religion, already in our Ten Oddly enough, Everybody Hurts is one of the few REM songs I would not vote for. Orange Crush is a big yes, and Darryl, I would vote for plenty of American Graffiti era songs, and absolutely Jessie's Girl by Aussie Rick "Dr. Noah Drake" Springfield. edna
I like many songs from "Amwrican Graffitti". "Everybody Hurts" makes me feel like cutting my veins though I like it... but it makes me feel uncomfortable.
TheLizard
It's supposed to make you feel like not cutting your veins...

Lea
REM has two three #1s Well, I'm wondering why my favorite REM didn't make #1 Losing my Religion? It's made the list but not #
Farin
but eg "Fire and Rain" by James Taylor was simply more popular *shrugs shoulders*
Lea
Well that would have benn a hard choice for me as well had I been voting but I think REM would have won out for me that time. Fire and Rain would have been right under it tho
bluesboy
Hey ! Wake up ! Did you even count my votes. Will this change the outcome of the ten ? Etta James deserves more respect than 0 votes. I gave her a number 1 vote... that means 10 NOT 0.
