Kevin Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 Just received I, Claudius in the mail. Great series, and a good DVD selection as it is very watchable even after 30 years now - always enjoyable and timeless . The story and performances are top-notch and a reminder of what great stage acting was/ can be like. I've had mine for about 5 years now and usually watch it at least once a year - great dull weekend fare as I usually watch the whole series in a single sitting . I usually follow up with reading something about Rome , thereafter. One small fault was that the sound was poorly transferred on my set ( and apparently others' as well ) so you have to crank up the volume , but then remember to turn it down when you view other things or risk shattering your eardrums . Hope yours has been improved on. Enjoy
Ombre Vivante Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 I've even seen this show in Spanish. The dvd set is the newer remastered edition (black cover, not the white cover of the mosaic), but I've read the reviews panning its sound quality. At this point, I'll even take a videocassette transfer. I love this show and always list is as one of my all-time favourites

MindCrime Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 Donnie Darko (original theatrical release) Excellent choice, the director's cut is subpar to the original version anyhow.
Ombre Vivante Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 I hate that movie, but whenever I explain it to people they seem to become interested in it, so I bought it to lend it to them
