Rayzor Posted February 26, 2008 Report Posted February 26, 2008 Will did okay, but it's just not quite the same. And why is it Ohio gets more snow than Manitoba? Strange...
Sweet Jane 61 Posted February 26, 2008 Author Report Posted February 26, 2008 I wish I knew, I feel like I live in the north pole as of late!! Will is more of an 80's guy, he says my listeners like stoner music which they do so I bet today was a little different for them, probably thought they had a flashback or something!!
Rayzor Posted February 26, 2008 Report Posted February 26, 2008 Believe it or not there isn't much snow at all at the north pole. It's too cold to snow. Only about 1/2 of the Northern Territories and Alaska gets alot of snow. The further north you go, the colder it gets. There is less wind and snow. My dad (who has worked way up north on many occasions) says he was working in a small town and they only had an inch of snow. It was the end January! The townspeople were complaining about the amount of snow! As for Will, he did make it sound like an 80's flashback program. There was some 70's of course, but not nearly as much as you play!
Jim in Pa Posted February 26, 2008 Report Posted February 26, 2008 Jane, your doin a good job at keeping that snow out your way, so far it looks like we'er just gonna get rain outof this one
Tony Baloni Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 We've been gettin hit pretty hard here in Detroit. It let up for a while last week, but last night it started up full force again.
TheLizard Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 ...Says the man who loves to point out thread subject changes.
Jim in Pa Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 yea, ya got me this time. But I didnt beat it to death with 300 more posts that have nothing to do with the subject.. last post for this thread..............
Sweet Jane 61 Posted February 27, 2008 Author Report Posted February 27, 2008 Well Jim we got enough here for us and your area too. Tired of snow and ice and winter! And no worries about shifting off the topic, I was part of it also and those it bothers, well they can just go and read another topic. As you said we only shifted slightly not pounding out a ton of posts off subject. As for AP, when I played it last week in my show I had a couple of listeners call in and say that was cool, that they listened to AP as teenagers. Always good to flashback to being a teen!
CanAm Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 I love The Alan Parsons Project. I have all the band's albums from Tales Of Mystery & Imagination (my co-favourite along with Turn Of A Friendly Card) to Gaudi. I like the fact that they used several different vocalists (including Eric Woolfson). Ian Bairnson is a great guitarist and, from what I've read, a pretty fair motorcycle mechanic and rider.
Tony Baloni Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 Is Turn of a Friendly card good? I have it sitting right here but i've never listened to it. I think I'ma do that today.
TheLizard Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 I had never bothered to give APP much thought, but "Games People Play" just came on my Pandora radio and I like it quite a bit.
Ken Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 This thread would be totally incomplete without this inclusion...... Alan Parsons invented the laser.....
Uncle Joe Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 I'm a big fan of APP from I Robot right on up to Sterotomy and Gaudi. I also enjoyed the adaptations of Poe and Asimov books. Genius!
