  3. Scott, I wanted to post your reply about my compulsive obsession with Buffalo Bill in your compulsive obsessive thread about R.E.M. I am not the only one who needs some time on the psychiatrist's couch, my brother. ::
  4. That's funny, I just watched an episode of "Everybody Loves Raymond" yesterday about Ray's brother's wedding. His first dance with his new bride was Elvis' "A Little Less Conversation". They danced like a couple of mad chickens...it was hilarious! ::
  5. Carl, you were right about Chaka...she was not up to her usual standards. I was so excited to see her come out on stage, and then so disappointed when she started to sing. But we all have bad days. Most of us have the luxury of having our bad days in private, not on TV. I still love you, Chaka! Here is a link to a story about Chaka's voice strain... clicky clicky
  6. I've read that too but for the life of me I can't remember where. But I think it is about the guy she formed the group with, Ben something.
  7. Growing up, I listened to Led Zeppelin but I was never into them. I've got a mixed CD of their "hits", but I am interested in making one of their lesser-known songs. 10. I've always been fond of Godspell. Great songs..."Day by Day" is amazing. I still don't know how I felt about "The Passion". However, being a mother, I appreciated the way they showed Mary's feelings. The scene where Jesus was a little boy and she comforted him was so touching. It was heart wrenching to watch her face as Jesus was being led past her.
  11. A Fish Called Wanda This is Spinal Tap Animal House Stripes Any Kevin Smith movie
  12. Oh sweet Daniel. You seem to take such a genuine interest in music and I appreciate that more than you know. I love all of these "younger" posters getting into Floyd, the Beatles, etc. And I do understand that these forums are frequented mainly by "rockers". But sweet, dear Daniel, there are whole other musical genres out there. You truly can't appreciate one without the others. Please get to know Stevie...you won't regret it. I hope this does not come off as being condescending...that is not my intention. Daniel, I think you are great, and I wouldn't have responded so passionately if I didn't think you are ready to expand your horizons. Peace, Peaches
  13. The part in "Silence of the Lambs" where Buffalo Bill says "It rubs the lotion on it's skin". * * * * * * * * Hi Scott! ::
  14. Back up singer for Ike & Tina in the 60s...I would be able to sing at the top of my lungs, shake my hips and slap Ike around. ::
  15. Queer Eye for the Straight Gene Simmons KISS bassist might get television makeover The Associated Press Updated: 4:28 p.m. ET Aug. 27, 2004 NEW YORK - How would the guys from "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" make over the black-and-white makeup of KISS? We may get to find out. Gene Simmons, the tongue-wagging bassist of KISS, is considering an appearance on the Bravo reality show. On his Web site, Simmons says producers have asked him to join the Fab Five for an episode. "They called me and asked me if I would do it. I'm a fan of the show. We may shoot on the 28th of Sept," Simmons says. Bravo publicist Bill Brennan told The Associated Press Friday that the network has had discussions recently with the rocker. "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" is now in its second season, airing on Bravo at 10 p.m. (ET) on Tuesdays. Beginning Sept. 1, Bravo will air four episodes of the British version of the show, complete with on-screen pop-ups to ensure that none of the jokes get lost in translation.
  16. I love America! :: The song "Tin Man" is so great... "Oz never did give nothing to the Tin Man That he didn't, didn't already have" That makes me very happy for some reason. But I couldn't figure out the meaning of the next lines... "And Cause never was the reason for the evening Or the tropic of Sir Galahad." Do I have to eat a mushroom to understand that?
  17. I think it was "Reflections"... Through the mirror of my mind Time after time I see reflections of you and me Reflections of The way life used to be Reflections of The love you took from me Oh, I'm all alone now No love to shield me Trapped in a world That's a distorted reality Hapiness you took from me And left me alone With only memories Through the mirror of my mind Through these tears that I'm crying Reflects a hurt I can't control 'Cause although you're gone I keep holding on To the happy times Oh, when you were mine As I peer through the window Of lost time Looking over my yesterdays And all the love I gave all in vain (All the love) All the love That I've waisted (All the tears) All the tears That I've taisted All in vain Through the hollow of my tears I see a dream that's lost From the hurt That you have caused Everywhere I turn Seems like everything I see Reflects the love that used to be In you I put All my faith and trust Right before my eyes My world has turned to dust After all the nights I sat alone and wept Just a handful of promisses Are all that's left of loving you Reflections of The way life used to be Reflections of The love you took from me In you I put All my faith and trust Right before my eyes My world has turned to dust...

  20. I remember walking across town, about 5 miles or so one way to buy the 12" single of Billy Idol's "Flesh for Fantasy". I thought his guitarist, Steve Stevens, was the coolest guy ever.
  21. Update from msn.com Cleanup After Phish Fans Cost Vt. $35,000 Aug 23, 10:02 PM EST Cleaning up after fans of the band Phish cost Vermont $35,000, and it's sending the bill to promoters of this month's festival. Hundreds of bags of trash were left alongside Interstate 91 while Phish fans were stuck between the Barton and Orleans exits for hours, waiting to get to the festival in Coventry. After state police closed the festival site to traffic because of muddy conditions, many fans abandoned their vehicles to walk the rest of the way to the Newport State Airport. Sam Lewis, deputy director of operations at the Agency of Transportation, said the festival's promoters, Townsend, Mass.-based Great Northeast Productions Inc., would pick up the tab. Adam Lewis, spokesman for Great Northeast, has said all along that the company would pay the cost of picking up the trash. Crews from the agency's districts in Derby and St. Johnsbury spent three days cleaning up the mess. Earlier last week, Sam Lewis said the fans had done a pretty good job of leaving the trash in bags. However, he said, people went through the trash bags gathering up cans and bottles to redeem them for the deposit. Lewis said the contract with Great Northeast stipulated the promoters would pay the state $15,000 for having transportation employees pick up trash associated with the festival, primarily along U.S. Route 5. Lewis said he didn't have any idea how many truckloads of trash were removed or how much it weighed. However, of the $35,000 bill, $8,000 of it was for dump fees, he said.
  22. Off The Wall - Michael Jackson (the big afro, big nosed, pre-pedophile years) Good stuff!
  23. I finally saw the movie last night. Definite thumbs up! What a freak show. I kept talking to Ashton throughout the movie. "Don't do it...you've already screwed everything up...don't make it worse." As far as the scars go, I tried not to think about it too much. Let it ride, my friends. My poor, sweet husband was totally bumfuzzled by the whole movie. He said it would have been better if Chris Tucker was in it and someone had a kung fu showdown. Lord, I love that man! ::
