  1. I don't remember when the Stones released "She's So Cold" but that has g-d*mn in it. Strange that they won't bleep that out but they bleep out bullsh*t in "Money"
  2. Ultimate-Guitar.com is pretty good
  3. I think I'll just ask everyone here what they think of Bowling For Soup, as I'm NOBODY to judge new bands. I've only heard 1985 by them, and it was pretty good. So, are they any good?
  4. Who was the original artist who did 'Wildfire'? I know Michael Martin Murphey did a cover of it, but I didn't think he originally did it...
  5. Usually, the way I get into other bands, which is all old stuff, is by listening to bands similar to those I like, or those that influenced the ones I like with the theory, "Well, if they liked it, it couldn't have been too bad." Which is kinda how I'm starting to like The Beatles, though I've always appreciated them. Other people's opinions can sometimes make me respect and appreciate a band, again, usually older, that I dislike for whatever reason, but rarely do I end up really liking them. Liking a band, to me, is to have that band move you or do something for you, which can't be forced on you. All right, I'll be quiet! :guitar: :guitar:
  6. Cool man, another Who fan! Yeah, I'm another young kid (19 tomorrow) who likes music from the days of her parents, i.e. The Who The Rolling Stones :guitar: Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Simon and Garfunkel, Rod Stewart/The Faces... and I think I'm even starting to warm up to The Beatles... :: Good t'have you here!
  7. That's actually a pretty good list. Maybe Pink Floyd should have been higher though...What was this based on?
  8. Does anyone know where I could find the songs from the movie "The Matchmaker" (the one with David O'Hara and Jeanne Garafalo) I've heard that they never made a soundtrack- anyone out there happen to have made a copy of it or anything, because I know that the David O'Hara fan club made one a while ago :: ::
  9. Yeah I don't own too many CDs either, maybe 60... I usually borrow ones from the library, a friend, etc., and burn them all to my laptop, and that only has about two or three thousand songs on it. But anyway, my top 10 CDs are 1. Who's Next- The Who 2. Fire of Unknown Origin- Blue Oyster Cult 3. The Who Sell Out- The Who 4. The Best of David Bowie (2 CD Set-- one of the better "best of" collections imo)- David Bowie 5. Flashpoint- The Rolling Stones 6. Momentary Lapse of Reason- Pink Floyd 7. Bridge Over Troubled Water- Simon and Garfunkel 8. Exile on Main Street- The Rolling Stones 9. Coolwalkingsmoothtalkingstraightsmokingfirestoking- Pete Townshend (I think I got that right) 10. Dark Side of the Moon- Pink Floyd 4. :guitar:
  10. All right, here's one 1. Originally casted to be America's version of Black Sabbath 2. Just recently their drummer and bassist left the group. 3. Formed in roughly 1967
  11. Sounds like The Who to me, but I could be wrong...
  12. My 10 in no order 1. The Who 2. The Rolling Stones 3. Blue Oyster Cult 4. Pink Floyd 5. Simon and Garfunkel 6. David Bowie 7. Led Zeppelin 8. Guster 9. Deep Purple 10.Aerosmith Something like that anyway
  13. I forgot- Bowie's aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh at the beginning of "Ziggy Stardust" is pretty good too.
  14. Of course, Daltrey's scream in "Won't Get Fooled Again," is my #1 and the "Yeah...yeah...yeah...WOOO!" in The Stones' "Brown Sugar" is good too, as is the scream from Eric(?) at the end of BOC's "After Dark" when he goes "after daaaaaaaaaa-aaaaaaaaarkkk yeeeooOOW!" ::
  15. I think Rod Stewart had a few like that, but I can't remember any at the moment. And, kinda of a stretch, "I Know You're Out There Somehwere" by The Moody Blues. :guitar:
  16. "Bridge Over Troubled Water" and then "Baba O'Riley" Still love 'em both
  17. Best to everyone else or not, I'll always say Pete Townshend, Brian Jones, Keith Richards, Dave Gilmour and Donald Roeser. ::
  18. I like Rachmaninoff, both to play and hear ::
  19. ~Spirit :: ~Once Upon A Time In America ~Casino ~Goodfellas- Layla! (I've not gotten that soundtrack yet, but I'd imagine Layla to be there...it was used so well!!)
  20. Favorite Word- arbitrary Least Favorite Word- turd Turn On- older, single, English guys :: Turn Offs- uncouth people Noise you love- horses munching on hay and grass :: Noise you hate- static on cell phones Favorite curse- Something my Astronomy teacher once said, "What in the d*mn h*ll???" Profession you'd like to try- Classic rock researcher. I could read and write about and listen to classic rock all day :: :: Profession you'd not want to try- Defense lawyer- I just don't think I'm cut out to do it. What you'd want God to say to you at the Pearly Gates- "Oh, you're just in time! The Who, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin are just warming up! Here're your front row seats!"
  21. It's a great song! Have you heard Roger introduce it on the Live At Leeds album? God that's funny... Roger's the girl and John's Ivan :: ::
