  1. I ended up with a surprise day off yesterday, it was 68 degrees, blue skies, all in February! It was absolutely gorgeous, the kind of day that makes you feel good for no reason other than it's just a feel good day. We'll gradually cool off over the week till it's raining and cool over the weekend, but doesn't an unexpected beautiful day make you feel great?
  2. Good Lord Shawna. That's just too close for comfort. Apparently when I'm good I'm good but when I'm not, I'm a disaster! I hate to admit it but....

  5. They are betting on everything! I think it will be Seattle, (since I don't care for Seattle), though I'd rather the winner was Pittsburg!
  6. I was going to suggest the same song as Elvy! I gave the lyrics to my 3 sons as they each turned 18. As a sort of wish for thier future. The same would be nice for Paul.
  7. The Pretenders Crazy Little Thing Called Love
  8. Paul I'm so proud! Good luck hon, We'll all be thinking of you, and all the other brave young guys. Hey on the if you get lonesome down there at Leonard Wood, just let me know. If you get the chance come on up to St Louis (it's not that far) and I'll point you in the right direction (the fun one). Elvy is right here too, just the opposite direction!
  9. Jane, Laurie,my friends and I used to spend hours making gum wrapper chains. Fruit Stripe was the colorful one. Otherwise you were limited to the various Wrigley colors. Remember the gum Teaberry? The Teaberry Shuffle? That was a dance from the Teaberry comercial. We also painted our nails black, blue, green. White eyeshadow with black eyeliner. Anyone else iron thier hair? I did. Chinese jumprope (not jumprope at all but a piece of elastic), and yes, slinky, superballs, paddleball, click clacks, and guys how bout Rock Em Sock Em Robots?? You'd knock thier block off. I loved that!
  10. angel say's it should be easy...I don't think so. A C?
  11. * Pork Tenderloin * 1 large tenderloin Fresh garlic Minced garlic Coarsley ground black pepper A-1 sauce Marinate tenderloin in A-1 for several hours ahead of roasting time. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Make several slits in meat, and put cloves of garlic into them. Roll meat in a mixture of coarse pepper and minced garlic, leaving a lot on the meat to form a crust. Wrap tenderloin tightly in aluminum foil, and roast for a total of 3 hours, 2 1/2 hours without opening the foil, then 1/2 hour to brown the crust. Eat!! This is a really good meal to serve men. Most men have a real meat thing (don't go there!). It's 'specially good with roasted new potatoes and onions. Now I'm hungry
  12. My grandfather died at the age of 100 in 2003. in the year 2000 he made a tape for his children and grandchildren, for us to pass on. It details the changes he'd seen in his life, beginning with electricity and the automobile among other things, and ending with the computer. He never wanted to stop learning, and the computer amazed him. He never atempted the computer, but loved to watch others, loved email, and the endless possibilities the computer presented. I intend to do the same thing for my children and grandchildren, the technology of my age will be well, unthinkable at this point. When I'm old that is!!
  13. I don't think the Rolling Stones will ever officially "quit". They may just fade away....
  14. Dannyboys hook got you didn't it Joe?? Up boy up, out of the gutter!!! Daniel, like Foxy I can't tell you much about the details, but you obviuosly put forth a good effort!!
  15. Day tripper is on lots of bootlegs. The Beatles thing? In one of the interview portions of "Jimi By Himself" (bootleg) Jimi talks about playing with the Beatles or Lennon, not sure which, in Germany, with Chuck Berry. I haven't heard it, but, I assumed it to be true.
  16. I would have in the past always said it's not a good idea. However, my direct boss was my friend at my last job, pretty close friend. She actually helped me move on to a better job (she also moved on, and is no longer my boss), and when I moved out, she helped finance that. She knew the spot I was in financially. I do think that had as much to do with the fact that our lives had taken similar turns, and she understood my situation. So, I have not only been friends with my boss, but have borrowed money from her. A possible double whammy. It hasn't hurt the realtionship at all, thank goodness, because I did worry a little about that.
