babyteen
I was recently introduced to the music of jazz bass player Stanley Clarke the other day. And I happened to come upon one of his songs, which I really like, but have never heard the whole thing. The song is "The Streets Of Philadelphia", and it's from the album, "I Wanna Play For You", released in 1977. I've been looking for the lyrics, as well as the full length recording of this song. Since I only got to hear part of it, I don't know all of the lyrics. Does anyone have any ideas? babyteen
I tried that link, but I couldn't find the written version of the lyrics.
Lucky
I tried also. Everything I find says "we're sorry, but the artist decided not to disclose the lyrics"
babyteen
So, where do I turn?
Lucky
Does the artist have a myspace? I dunno...
edna
If the artist doesn´t want his lyrics to be on the net, you can: a) find a songbook in a shop Insist, there´s always somebody who posts them until they´re removed.
Earth-Angel
I'd listen to the song and write them down. Either no one has ever done that, or you can be the first one and put the lyrics up online for someone else having the same problem
Levis
It's like that with a Soul Asylum song too. I figured out the lyrics to it and they're very good. But if the band doesn't want the lyrics disclosed then I don't plan to disclose them (also I'm too lazy to)

babyteen
Close, but no cigar! I was actually looking for the Stanley Clarke song, "The Streets Of Philadelphia". Same title, just different lyrics and a different melody altogether.
babyteen
Check out this site full length on Rhapsody...it says it's free.. Link Now, for some reason, when I click on this link, it won't play for me! Instead, there's a message that reads, "Invalid Syntax Error". I know I have the Rhapsody Player installed on my computer. So what's going on?

When I click the link, it's actually supposed to go directly to the selected track, and it's supposed to play for me. So, why doesn't that happen? Sure hope so. http://download.yousendit.com/A44A82F93D73AB78 Thank you so much. You are such a sweetheart. I never thought I'd find a downloadable version of the full-length recording of that song anywhere. And you won't believe this, I listened to it, created a word document, and, one by one, I wrote down all the lyrics! Isn't that just really cool?
