OLD 55
If someone gets #1 and #2 it doesn't mean that they nominated the best songs, only the most mainstream ones... One person's 'mainstream' is another person's 'alternate'/'alternative'. 1. Hush - Deep Purple - (1968) 72 2. Suite: Judy Blue Eyes - Crosby, Stills & Nash (1969) 70 Good on you Joe. I wouldn't have exactly called Suite: Judy Blue Eyes a 'mainstream' certainty to make the Top Ten. Hush neither, for that matter ! Many people can't stand Deep Purple. Hush and Smoke On The Water are the only ones of theirs' I voted, or would vote, for ! Anyway, it's pretty hard to please everyone. Some people left the Ten because we were 'too commercial', and then others did because the nominations were 'too way out'. Next Ten, my last for some time, I'll be nominating both a Beatles and a Stones song. (Not a 90s - I'll take you up on that some other time). OLD 55
I'll find a good 90s song to challenge you in the future, young Martin ! In fact - let's make it TWO 90s Vs 60s songs. I'll need a little more time than you, because it's SO hard to find good 90s songs. I'm going for my Dinner. Fish and salad.
