OLD 55
Sorry Martin ! I didn't realise there was a separate Thread (but you do deserve one, of course). I'll put my post here also for posterity. Cheers Mate. Alles Liebe zum Geburtstag MARTIN .

Tenacious_Peaches
AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!! Look at that evil vermin! That thing is the malevolent second cousin to the squirrel, Satan's personal minion! Don't you see the look in its eyes? It's plotting to take over the world. Don't say I didn't warn you! c_s_1987
OH MY GOD!! WHAT IS THAT THING??!! Being an Australian, I'm surprised by your reaction. We are rather used to wombats, or as you call them "overweight furry things". Most captive wombats are actually quite friendly, and are no where near as evil as they look. Shawna
I always thought a wombat was sort of a miniature version of a 'roo. Guess I should pay more attention when at the zoo. Hey - that rhymed. Sort of.
c_s_1987
Just in case you hadn't worked it out yet, the animal you are thinking of is the wallaby.
Kevin
Does a wombat burrow underground or live in trees like a koala ?
c_s_1987
Wombats are actually those "drop bears" you may have heard of. They weigh over 100 kilograms, so they like to climb trees and drop on unsuspecting foreigners. Seriously, though, if I saw a wombat up a tree, I would scream. katie_sane
I see them dead on the highway more often than not. They burrow underground. If I saw one up a tree, I'd wonder how the hell it got up there. Then probaby scream too,
