skybluesky Posted June 3, 2007 Report Posted June 3, 2007 Unrelated thought-Every time I read the title of the thread I start singing "You Won't See Me" by The Beatles-Thought over, carry on
Blue Fish Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 They just keep coming back! Can't keep away from us.
Uncle Joe Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 They say he was spotted in the vicinity of Cornwall?
Blue Fish Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 You really don't wanna know what people do in Cornwall...
Blue Fish Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 Just. Mind you, it was my fault for going fishing when I can't swim!
The Seeker Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 So people go fishing in Cornwall? That's... terrible.
Blue Fish Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 Not just fishing.....I was yanking your chain seeks, Cornwall's wonderful. Spiffing when the sun's out in fact...
The Seeker Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 I know you were. You've got the sea down there, so it can't be all that bad.
Blue Fish Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 Indeed...with sharks and sunfish and dolphines and Bass and all that fun. and holiday makers....
Uncle Joe Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 Me too, and does it involve a board of any kind?
Rayzor Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 I've dressed up all "spiffy", but I've never been "spiffing".
Blue Fish Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 Spiffing is an old fasioned word meaning really nice, highly reconmended that kinda thing... mainly very nice...
DiggsUK Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 ...from the verb 'to spiff', natch. One spiffs a lot in Cornwall as it is a marvelous place.
blind-fitter Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 Are you sure you're not mixing up "spiff" with "spuff" (more commonly used as a noun, but I'm sure it could also be a verb)? They also spuff alot in Cornwall, so I'm told.
DiggsUK Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 My only 'spuffing' was in the campsite bar at Penzance when I was 16. Didn't like it and promptly threw up in a plant-pot...
blind-fitter Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 Are you sure you don't mean "puffing"? Or perhaps "spliffing"? I can't imagine spuffing in a crowded Penzance bar, nor have I ever found spuffing to have an immediate emetic effect. Puffing/spliffing and spuffing are entirely different activities, though I can just about envisage the two being done simultaneously, or indeed, one after the other. (I would recommend spuffing first. Once you've puffed/spliffed, the urge to spuff disappears entirely ).
DiggsUK Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 Nooo... 'puffing' is what a gay, asthmatic man does in public toilets...
