Farin Posted January 20, 2007 Report Posted January 20, 2007 for the last weeks, every day around 12:00 (my time) there is a "Databse Error", and I can't access the boards at all... usually it lasts about 10 to 15 minutes, but today it was more than an hour...
The Seeker Posted January 20, 2007 Report Posted January 20, 2007 Same here. Usually I can't access anything at all, but this time I could log in, view who's online and click on the threads, even though they seemed to be empty.
katie_sane Posted January 20, 2007 Report Posted January 20, 2007 Same here as well, that big red line up the top saying "Database Error". I always here Wayne Campbell in my head saying 'Denied!' everytime I see it, which is like every day So, there is four of us so far, from four different countries all being locked out for a time...
Crazy Don Posted January 20, 2007 Report Posted January 20, 2007 I got it this morning! I even made a post about it and there's now nothing there!
Farin Posted January 20, 2007 Author Report Posted January 20, 2007 yes, I opened a new thread, because I couldn't respond in yours...
Farin Posted January 20, 2007 Author Report Posted January 20, 2007 and it happened again just now...
Red Fish Posted January 20, 2007 Report Posted January 20, 2007 Go outside and do something productive while it's erroring the database! Jeez!
The Seeker Posted January 20, 2007 Report Posted January 20, 2007 I'm not allowed outside when it's dark.
Red Fish Posted January 20, 2007 Report Posted January 20, 2007 Go to bed then or move to somewhere where it's day at the time of the database erroring.
The Seeker Posted January 20, 2007 Report Posted January 20, 2007 Of course going to bed is more productive.
Red Fish Posted January 20, 2007 Report Posted January 20, 2007 You'll wake up earlier and be able to actually do something tomorrow. Of course it's productive! Or at least it's on the road to productivity. If you find sitting at the computer waiting for the thing to load worth your time, then more power to ya.
The Seeker Posted January 20, 2007 Report Posted January 20, 2007 I don't spend the time while it's loading sitting there just waiting.
edna Posted January 20, 2007 Report Posted January 20, 2007 Go outside and do something productive while it's erroring the database! Jeez! We´re not talking about our lives here, we´re just reporting an error in the thread to report errors, Namahage...
Levis Posted January 20, 2007 Report Posted January 20, 2007 I'd probably get it but I am conveniently not online at that time... 4:30 pm for me?
Farin Posted January 20, 2007 Author Report Posted January 20, 2007 4:30 pm for me? yes, it would be...
Levis Posted January 20, 2007 Report Posted January 20, 2007 Not normally online then... but if it spreads...
Farin Posted January 20, 2007 Author Report Posted January 20, 2007 it happened again shortly after 17:00 my time, that would be 9:30 PM your time...
Rayzor Posted January 20, 2007 Report Posted January 20, 2007 I get it every morning at 5 am. I usually just make a pot of coffee and check my e-mail. When I return everything is cool again.
Red Fish Posted January 20, 2007 Report Posted January 20, 2007 We´re not talking about our lives here, we´re just reporting an error in the thread to report errors, Namahage... I know, I just wanted to get Sneeky and Mr. Farin to stop complaining while simultaneously making a jab at them.
Carl Posted January 21, 2007 Report Posted January 21, 2007 Is this happening at midnight US Pacific Time? That would coincide with the funkiness on our main site. We're taking big steps to correct this by moving to a new server. It's something I really didn't want to do, but am now very happy about. If all goes well, there should be minimal disruption to the site as a bunch of other geeks and I move files around and talk about stuff like Apache configurations for the next week or so. When the dust settles, everything should work (including the Top-10 lists) and I will be able to spend more time doing fun stuff and less time dealing with technical issues.
