Carl
On the Songfacts main site we moved things around a little. The search box is up top, and there is a box in the middle where you can watch video supplied by MTV. We're part of a Google pilot program where they distribute video to selected sites, and we were selected. I think it fits pretty well and is good content, but if a mob of angry villagers with torches and crossbows appears outside the Songfacts offices, we'll reconsider. Farin
That's great! (even if I don't really care for Justin Timberlake ) The site looks more compact now, no wasted space... I like it! How often does google change the vid? Do you have a say about the content? Is it just interviews or some music videos too?

Mike
Whatever it takes to keep this musical marvel of a site going strong... is ok by me!

TheLizard
I don't think my computer likes the video thing very much, but my computer is a jerk.
Carl
I haven't asked too many questions, because the Google people are still experimenting with it, but they stress that it's quality video limited to quality sites. It will be interesting to see how many people watch, but the big trend now is video on the net, with youtube showing up everywhere. There are some computers that won't like this, but I think it's more the computer's fault, especially if your computer is being a jerk.
Levis
My computer doesn't like it either. But it's not a jerk, it's just a bit discerning in its tastes.
Carl
Yeah. The code is too nasty. I hope we can sort this out, because I like the video, but I'm going to take it down because I don't want Songfacts to be one of those sites that crashes computers. Mike
Yeah, I love watching old music videos from the 80's.
edna
Oh oh, it´s gone... I like the idea though and my old computer from the XXth Century didn´t crash...
Carl
For everyone who crashed - can you please let me know what operating system and browser you're using? The Google folks want to troubleshoot so we can try again. Thanks, Carl
RonJonSurfer
I opened excruciatingly slowly with Windows XP and Internet Explorer. Running on a major corporate system (instead of DSL) I had no problem getting on with both XP and IE.
Shawna
no problems here with XP... but I'm not seeing a vide of any kind... is that back yet?
